I read Danny Murphy say that once they realised the spurs line up with defoe upfront as a lone striker, they knew they had to pressure high up the pitch because we wouldnt look to play it long.
There tactics coupled with the fact the surface wasnt great resulted in the loss in my opinion. You could see Gomes was very hesitiant to kick it long, which in most cases i would applaud but on a ropey playing surface against hungry pressurising players like johnson, forced the errors that ultimately cost us the game.
I think harry gambled, he didnt want a replay, so went all out for the win, in hindsight, grinding out a draw or tight win, would look to have been the better option.
Also, that Dembele looks a good player, why cant we scout someone like that?
