Surely you dont mean Erikssen? I would be furious if they make any interest in him as they done this with Modric and it completely turned his head. I could see the same happening with Christian if that came to fruition

It's in Marca so they've already started.

Chill, even that shitrag are saying its impossible to sign him this summer, and he's more a target for the future, for when Modric is past it.

Based on what? £85m is the going rate for Mahrez now. He has 4 years left on his contract and is currently the most talked about footballer in the world after single handedly winning the CL final and scoring a worldie. I can easily see him going for a profit.

If his wages weren't already so astronomical I would agree.
The problem is that getting a £100 million fee AND £300k+ per week to take him of their hands won't work.
United were happy to pay Sanchez a silly wage because the transfer fee wasn't so high.
Players are starting to price themselves out of future moves because of the salaries they are demanding to move to top clubs.
Don't get me wrong, we would all do the same, and I guess £300k per week for 5 years should set you up for life, to the point where you could easily take a 50% cut if you were unhappy at your current club. The problem is that a lot of players won't put aside the lifestyle they have become accustomed to.
Fortunately Bale isn't that sort of player, and neither is Kane.

Agree with others, if Ronaldo really is off then I would be surprised if Bale doesn't contemplate staying. But if RM loose Ronaldo I would be shocked if they don't go balls deep for ether Neymar or Hazard. So it's sort of back to square one.

And this is exactly why only signing players with potential is flawed. By the time this potential is realised the likes of Eriksen and Kane will be nearing or at their peak and we could face the same scenario with having to replace key players.

I know it’s not easy for us, but we have to get some players who are ready to make a real impact now. I don’t see any other way to break this glass ceiling and get to the “next level”.

See now if you're opening up a loan as a possibility, you're talking Levy's language :D

I'm torn. No, not as a result of me trying to ease an extra large garden vegetable up my bum, but on wether or not we might sign him. I want to say "I believe" but I'm scared to upset anyone

I didn't even think of the possibility of a loan...

I could actually see that happening...:sneaky::sneaky::sneaky::sneaky:

If Bale had continued to be out of form and under the radar during the last month of the season, we may have had the slimmest of chances of signing him.

Truth is, as much as I loved watching him score that goal, in that moment all hope of signing him was gone imo. Probably added £50m to an already high price tag.
But maybe if that was the case, we would have felt less keen on signing him
