Must be Bayern. They played overnight. Good time for all parties to discuss a deal. Odds shortening on some betting sites.

There also the James situation. There were rumours Bayern would take up the £40m option just to sell to Atleti for £60-70m. Maybe Bayern used that for leverage.

Financially they aren't miles superior to us though. I think Kane gets paid more than any Bayern player after bonuses.

Don't see how Bayern can afford his wages unless there's a massive subsidy from Madrid. In that case, I'd be surprised if we weren't at least showing a bit of interest.

I am disappointed in the way Madrid and Zidane especially have approached it, the lack of respect for Bale who's signing was the start of their most successful period in the modern era and they pretty much blame him for themselves offering him a contract they can't shift him on. It's a shame that players continue to ignore how shit their fans and management treat players and still see it as their dream move. If Bale goes to Bayern he will reach the heights he did with Spurs in my opinion.

On the subject of RM,if we do sell Eriksen,I hope we sell him to AM and give RM one up the backside

Re Bale I think if we get Lo Celso we are a bit overloaded with players, better buy a top notch right back and Sessegnon. For me Dele has to take his game to another level or two,and Lamela has to kick in some quality service, then we will be laughing

If we manage to sign him with GLC, I think we stand a better chance of challenging the league.
Would be such a major coup.

Everyone in this thread was doing so well not talking about the Eriksen situation.

Let's keep it that way.

Do we still have the first option to buy back? And wasn’t there some kind of clause where other PL clubs have to pay £10M more if we refuse that option? Can’t remember if that 10M was to us or not. Obvs that was back when £10M was deemed a lot of money...

If that’s true then they’d have to speak to us first so there’s always a possibility. Would love it but would be very shocked if it happened.

Given his wage demands, I’d be surprised if anyone would also be looking to pay a transfer fee. Madrid are in such a weak position to expect that too

If Bayern can afford him, we can. Like others have said, Madrid would have to subsidise them massively for it to work.

But that's a debate for another thread.....

I probably sound like a soulless bellend and you'd be right, but I just don't see how Spurs could ever bring him back into the fold, the money and number crunching is just too far beyond us.

It's a fun dream for all of us who enjoyed watching him tear teams apart though.

I hope, by the looks of things like a lot of others, he just doesn't pull on another prem. team shirt is all, that'd be fucking galling.
Totally agree.

Like I said before he's going somewhere, with the "buy-back clause" it could well be us. Do I think it will be? Probably not, do I want it to be, fucking hell yes.

I know people will talk about him being 30 and the injuries but Ronaldo is 34 and will probably do it for a few more years. I mean shit, Zlatan is still smashing them in at the MLS, we may even get some wedge if still on contract at 33.

Bale is special, he's still the 3rd best player in the world and if RM is willing to pay a significant amount of his wages, it makes him affordable, given the image rights stuff too.

I highly highly doubt he's coming to the NWHL but wouldn't it be absolutely fucking glorious if he did...

Whoever gets Bale is going to get one hungry son of a bitch, I don't believe the golf nonsense at all, just Madrid crying about their own actions.

He isn’t the 3rd best player in the world, I loved him when he was at Spurs but I’m not sure he was ever the 3rd best player in the world and he certainly isn’t that now.
