I would like to see Gio get a chance again, especially since VDV is out injured. The kid has talent and this is probably his last chance to make an impression here so why not give him a shot. I realise i'm probably living in cloud cookoo land as it appears Harry doesnt seem to rate him, but it would be interesting to see how he did with a proper run of games.

Seems a real shame not to at least give him a proper shot this season, though I suspect it wont happen.

I take it he is actually back at the club & training for the first team... haven't heard much about him of late.

Happy he stayed. What I would like to know is if that has to do with Levy thinking the offers were too bad or Harry wanting to keep him?

Gio is only still here because he would only go to Seville who wouldn't meet the asking price. The best we'll see him play in is Europa but he's probably even behind Falque now.

Gio can play the VdV role perfectly. He should start upfront with Ade

I agree with most of this. This sort of thread pops up every season.

I think he may be given some chances in the Europa. If the lad really wants to play, he needs to take them.

We've seen too many occasions where the World Cup/Pre season Gio does not turn up. I'd love to be proven wrong but i think odds are it'll be the same old story.

Bale came back from the brink, and arguably got his chance out of necessity rather than choice. To a (much) lesser extent Pav seemed to rescue his Spurs career when he seemed a certainty to go.

Who knows, maybe Gio will do the same? Hope so!

I think he has to play behind Ade, in his natural position as VDV would be played as a support striker.

I think defoe has to start before him, presuming VDV is out for a while and GDS can be used if defoe still doesn't score.

He's useless on the wings and it's not his natural postion.

Considering that defoe and pav have been pretty ineffective he has to be given a chance with Ade.

I would love to see Gio get another chance and would hope he takes that chance with both hands, The lad clearly has the ability to shine in his natural position and hopefully push Vdv for a place in the first team. He has a few hurdles he needs to cross first, Like correcting his attitude off the field, If he can do that then the boy has every chance of being a success.

Let`s hope Harry gives him that opportunity, that is another hurdle he needs to get over as well!!

I'd love to see Gio get a chance, but I don't think he will. I think he knows that, Harry knows that, so when he does play he isnt too bothered.

If Harry were to actually give him a chance who knows. Gio has the ability, its the motivation thats lacking, but we've all seen how well he can do for Mexico.

I think he could be a very good challenger for Lennon's position, with Walker as RB overlapping. Probably against weaker teams at first. But as I say, i dont think he will get a chance

Vdv injured, time to step up mister dos Santos. I think him staying will turn into a blessing in disguise. I'll predict him to score 6 goals this season, not bad for an unwanted benchy

49 caps at the age of 22 is pretty good going. If we were linked with another player with the same international pedigree then I'm sure a lot of people on here would be all for it.

Having said that, I can't see him getting much game time still.

I think that the way this player has been treated has been poor, but then again he hasn't helped himself by all accounts.

I'd love to see him get a run of games but as i dont believe Redknapp "fancies" him then it isnt going to happen.

Thing is though, how much can you read into International pedigree?

If that was the case, how would people explain being happy to be rid of an International Striker with 22 goals in 42 appearances?

I don't place a lot of emphasis on what happens in international football. The standard is mickey mouse, by and large.
