I tend to agree but also appreciate @Ghost Hardware 's viewpoint on the standard of the league and whether it's best suited for where Veliz and Scarlett are in their respective development.

Guess i'm just wary of the due diligence we've done previously when we've come to loaning out talent.
I think Orban has 100% outgrown the league. He should in no way stay there if we were to loan him back out. As mentioned the step up to us is a very big one but if we are bringing in another wide forward alongside him my concern lessens. (I don’t think we will look to loan him now Kane has gone tho)

On the other hand I think a loan to Belgium for Scarlet would be good, Veliz tho it’s a tricky one. Aside from it being in Europe I’d prefer him to go to a better league tbh. But that being said he’s only 19 and we could well look to loan him out next season as well. Ideally Veliz would go to Italy for me as I think it would be a good way of adjusting but in the end of the day it’s about finding a club that will start him week in week out.

As others have said, he has followed us for ages and follows loads of other clubs.

Also genuinely concerning how much stock people put into shit like this

These twitter aggregators are annoying as fuck. Constantly pushing out shit 24/7 as they all race to the bottom.

It's way cooler to win trophies at a place that hasn't won them recently, Gift. You set the world on fire more that way than being just another name on the wall. Jordan wasn't at the Lakers or Celtics. Brady wasn't at the Cowboys or Steelers or Bears or Packers. I'll probably get mocked for cross-sports references but the trailblazers are the real legends.
Portland?

If it's good enough for us to notice players we would bid for, in then it's good enough to develop other youngsters to get them to that point. I'd rather they play week in week out in front of big crowds in the Juliper pro league for instance, than be bench options in the championship
This is why I like what other owners do when they have lower european teams and they can send players there like Chelsea did with Vitesse for example

A little insight...9

Looks like he'd have a steep learning curve to fit in the PL. Doesn't sound like he could go straight into the squad, although i'm not clear how long ago the report was written.

Edit: just seen it was from April 2023.

If we get this guy personally I'll be pleased with our options. Son, Deki, Richy, Orban, Solomon, Perisic, maybe even Gil when he gets back fit and Maddison can also fill in on the wing if needed. If this guy turns out half as good as his numbers suggest he might be we'll be in for a treat. I'm also not ready to give up on Richy, think he's going to thrive this season once the system clicks.

Desperately need wingers - Son and Kulu are purely ineffective out wide, they're both inverted players. We need pure wingers with raw pace and quality to get down the line.

I think we’d still lack a pacey RW as part of those options.

Orban would be a great signing though to compete with Richy.

Also allows the player to get acclimatise to Europe as a continent. I know all countries are different with their own culture but I feel like it's still good for a player like Veliz to play in Europe rather than South America at least in terms of developing.

It's what Brighton did with Mitoma too. Brought him over from Asia and then loaned him out to the Belgian league for a season.
Agree that could be a good solution to get players to settle in Europe. A league just below the very top ones, Belgium, Netherlands etc where they get to play every week.

16 goals in 22 matches for a mediocre team in Norway in 2022. Fastest hattrick in Conference league for Gent. He’s quick. I like him. Get him :sneaky:

If Paratici is still at Sampdoria we should team up with them, heck with their financial situation maybe we should buy them.

Yep, I worry about our front line. Crazy to say because 12 months ago is probably have argued it was the best in the league. But now:

Kane to Richarlison =massive drop in quality

Son= lost a yard of pace, doesn’t seem to shoot from distance as much as the old days, seems less lethal even when he does get in on goal

Kulu= reminds me of a target man playing out wide. Collects the ball, always backs into his full back and looks to pass it to someone in midfield. Wasn’t a great goal scorer even in his best form for us but now he doesn’t seem to be a dribbler or creator either I’m not sure what he offers
