It's funny, Siggy gets so much stick - he's not good enough, he goes missing, he does this and that, yet here he is with two incredible strikes - one proper Roy of the Rovers and one for a late result - he is a great example of a squad player that we need to keep hold of, but not alongside another attack minded midfielder as a DM pair... TIM!

:shifty: idiot...

Out of that lot, Gylfi v Hull.

Honourable mentions for Hotlby v Anzhi, and Soldado's second v Anzhi as Soldado scoring with an assist from Lamela really should have happened more than once this season.

It's not goal of the season, but Chiriches vs Fulham was better than Holtby's vs Fulham. Weak foot half volley never rising more than a couple inches off the ground right into the bottom corner. One of the most technically perfect strikes I've seen all season.

In terms of pure strike, it simply has to be Sigurdsson's v Hull. That was just unbelievable, the turn and then the shot into the top corner. You don't save those, tekka boo son etc.

In terms of how much I celebrated it, probably Holtby's v Fulham. Late winner and from a fan favourite.

As a combination though, I'd go for Sandro v United. a), it's Sandro, b) he struck it so well, c) it was in a big game, d) it was a great recovery from the City trouncing, e) it's Sandro.

Siggy v Hull or Sandro I reckon, and they're comfortably ahead of the rest. Siggy's was an absolute peach, I think the best of the lot, but I'm actually going to give it to Sandro for (a) context and (b) the fact that De Gea knows he's getting nowhere near it from the second it leaves Sandro's boot.

Out of those, Gylfi against Hull for me.

However, I really liked our winner against Cardiff away. A nice cross from Naughton to Lamela who heads down to Holtby, spins away and receives a perfect through ball before picking out Paulinho who backheels the ball in.

Sigurdsson vs. Hull should win this, no question. And I say that as, umm, not exactly a fan of his!

Says a lot for our season how many were from outside the box.

I personally liked Soldado's cross from a well overhit Ade pass to an Ade volley against Southampton.

From that lot it's Siggy vs Hull

Eriksen free kick against West from

I like Sigurdsson v Hull too of all the long crackers because of the little take and spin he does first, but I'm going for Eriksen's free kick against West Brom. All the screamers were nice, but with those you basically trust in technique striking and making a good connection and hope a little, with the free kick it's a completely deliberate action where you are set a challenge of a wall and a keeper and from the dead ball you still need the technique/connection but you also need the craft to get the ball up, down and into the spot you aim for, deliberately using spin etc.

Sorry to be all logicalmungus on you guys but there it is.

Gylfi for me too. Incredible strike.

Was surprised to not see his first goal against Norwich from earlier in the season though. Excellent build-up play leading to the goal and it was one of the few awesome goals we scored that wasn't a screamer.

Then vote for one of chadlis goals. Just as much direction and intent as any of eriksens free kicks, except he did it whilst moving.

Sig v Hull. Not just the strike but the skill and turn to set it up all in one movement. Funny thing is I'd completely forgotten about it until I saw it just now, even though I was there with a great view of it too. Just shows how much of this season I've blanked out.

it's a bit of a joke, you can vote for multiple goals on the official site, every one of them if you want.

Got to be Siggy vs Hull, such tekkers and an absolute bullet shot as well, one of those that just doesn't deviate at all.

Surprised that Ade's goal vs Southampton isn't on the list - incredible cross from Soldado and a flying, 6-foot-off-the-ground volley from Adebayor, and the best bit, all from a pass out wide that the Southampton fans jeered because they thought Soldado would never reach it and never be able to do anything with it from that position if he did. Suddenly WHIP-BOOM back of the net bitches. Probably the best cross of the season as well as a brilliant finish.

I would've had Paulinho vs Cardiff on the list as well.

From this list, I would say Siggy Vs Hull but my personal favorite was Paulinho Vs Cardiff, mainly for the fact that we got to see how Holtby, Lamela, Soldado and Paulinho could link up if they ever got mins together. I like the way, after winning the header, Lamela makes a clever run into the box, Holtby plays a near perfect ball for his run, Soldado has made a run to take the defenders eye off Paulinho and then leaves the ball for Lamela who is in a better position to do something with it (Defoe would have gone for the ball and had a shot), Lamela's first time ball into the path of Paulinho, who add's a bit of Brazilian flair with the back heel. Absolutely love that goal.
