Pandev Enticed By Tottenham Move
According to reports, Tottenham are eyeing up a move for Napoli striker Goran Pandev and could be successful should they agree a deal with the Italian club because of the striker’s eagerness to leave.

The Metro reveals that reports in Italy are saying he is tempted by a move to White Hart Lane this month with Napoli close to confirming deals for Jorginho from Hellas Verona and Michel Bastos from Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates.

Pandev has scored six goals in 16 Serie A matches this season and needs just one more to overtake his tally from last season.

The Macedonian international has struggled to repeat the form of his early seasons in the Serie A with Lazio but could now be handed the chance to move to the Premier League at the age of 30.

Tottenham are being linked with several strikers after the announcement that Jermain Defoe would be leaving the club in February to join Toronto FC in the MLS, the Metro reports.

He is normally decent behind Higuan, but I don't know how he would pair up with any of our strikers. The biggest concern for me is that he rarely plays longer than 60 minutes.

Pandev's a striker? I think Trading Standards will have something to say about that!

He's a forward who err, doesn't score many goals.

I always thought he was an attacking midfielder in the lamela/chadli/siggy/holtby/eriksen mould....
Sign him up, we're short of cover....

Big fan. Would be a good replacement for Defoe.
Straight swap for Capoue would do nicely.

Jorginho from Verona that they mention in the article as his replacement looks pretty good from what I've seen and heard; but Pandev, no thanks.

I'd say Kalou is much the lesser of two evils.

Jorginho is a good prospect, not someone who is likely to make an immediate impact.

Please god no.

Agreed. Watched him against Arse in the Champs League this year and he was useless. We've better No 10's and better forwards that are all half his age and with full heads of hair. Napoli would be laughing all the way to the bank and Champs League ball next year if we were to "straight swap" the two, or even ask for less from them in the trade.

I haven't seen much of him at Napoli nor during his time at Inter really

I did however see quite a lot of him when he played for Lazio - while I would say he's a talented footballer I'd have to say I'd be disappointed if we signed him and I really don't think he would be what we need

No.

If we're going to play anyone behind or just off Ade, then Lamela should be the guy.

Not only is Lamela potentially much better than Pandev, he's already much better than Pandev.

Lamela scored twice as many goals as Pandev in Serie A last year.

And the clincher: Capoue is a very good player, and we should not be selling him to Napoli for Pandev and an invite to a Bunga Bunga party....

Tim Sherwood asked the media where he plays when asked about links to Napoli and Macedonian forward Goran Pandev.#THFC

Sherwood (Pandev): "Where does he play? I don’t know, that tells you everything!” #THFC

He either genuinely doesn't know who he is or is hinting that its not his decision for the player to come.

The Pandev link is crap. We're having trouble playing all of our forwards and we're going to find minutes for Goran Pandev? I actually believe Sherwood when he says he doesn't want to bring anyone in and, honestly, except for LB cover (and CB cover if Kaboul is perma-crocked) I don't think we need anyone, either. Adebayor and Bentaleb have been like two new signings, anyway, since none of us expected anything from either of them this year.
