20 year old former Brighton CB - played for Spurs X1 tonight - after being chased by Spurs for several months. Made his debut for Brighton last season but declined to sign a new contract and his contract came to an end on 30 June.

Unclear if he has actually signed for Spurs as yet or is on trial - although logically you would not walk away from a paid job to gop on an uncertain trial, you would sign the Brighton contract, so chances are he has actually signed. Either Spurs have agreed a transfer fee with Brighton or it will go to transfer tribunal to agree the 'development fee'.

I would guess he will either go on loan next season or play in Spurs u 21 side.

Nice to see when the OS comes clean on his status though !

Do we need another young CB when we have Kaboul, Vertonghen, Dawson, Caulker and by the sounds of things the young lad from forest?

Another promising youngster. Always good. Obviously.thinking long term. He may go on loan, he may play youth or reserve football for. He may never play a first team game. But we'll sign him for buttons and sell him myself English pounds. Money making scheme, investment.

As said above, if we were rumoured to be interested already, then as afree agent he played last night, I imagine he's onboard. Another one for the longer term, maybe with Fryers, Lascelles and Russell?? (aussie keeper on trial)

Long term planning suggests we might - if our aim is to replace where we can from talented Spurs youth (and where they arre not available we buy for £m's), then Dawson is 29 in August so in a couple of years we might want a new CB.

Youth development is a long term process with a low success factor (ie few players from the youth set up will ever match Spurs ever increassing quality standard) so in terms of age after Hall (20), Lascalles (18), Stewart (18), Ekong (18) the CB players are currently 16 - possibly too young to be considered replacements for Dawson.

If the youngsters are not good enough for us spurs will sell or trade them for other players.

Think Levy has worked out we cannot afford to buy every new player, so youth development is an important part of our business development model (which is also the model of the likes of Ajax) and indeed followed by the likes of Barcelona

Spurs secret signing of the transfer window so secret that the press release self destructed in 5 seconds.

He's got a blank profile on the official website and a few news sites has reported he has signed.
