Great article on AVB

I read it as being more of an article on the players and their ability to understand him, rather than the fans.

He certainly communicates in an idiosyncratic manner, but not so much that the players won't know what he's on about (though I do remember Poyet accusing our players of being "a bit thick" after him and Ramos got the boot).

Overall though I agree that it is a bit patronising in tone. The author has picked up on one fairly irrelevant aspect of AVB's tenure so far. Apart from the Daily Fail and Paul Fletcher, nobody else seems to have an issue with the way AVB expresses himself.

I doin't think it is aimed at the fans or even the players.
I think it is more specifically aimed at the Daily Mail, which is after all where it starts from.
And of course at the other tabloids who similarly get ridiculous mileage
out of mocking AVB in particular and often foreigners in general.

'Coming over 'ere, taking our jobs and not even able to speak English as good as what 'arry done'.
What is worse is that he's making quite agood job of it
and might have done at Chelsea if ABro. had kept his nerve.
Still it's an ill wind.
