Thomas Muller
Marco Reus
Julian Draxler ( I know )
Javier Pastore
El Shaarawy
Iker Muniain

It has to be someone from that list. We need LW who can play other positions. My guess would be Iker Muniain.
Javier Pastore

I think GF meant a real top class player, and 50 million is just an indicator of the level we're aiming at. So I won't necessarily take the 50 million literally.

£50m would be for a striker and very few are worth that much.

Falcao is the one who springs to mind due to his issues with Monaco and their tax free wages potentially being illegal.

Worked under avb and Monaco would get their money back.

Only other striker I'd really like is Lewandowski but surely you'd get him for £30m-£35m.

So, other than those two it has to be Suarez as. £50m was mooted as his price but I can't see Liverpool selling to a rival.

Wages would be an issue for Falcao, but I could see it working with two strikers. Eriksen would shift to the left (where he has and can play), leaving us with pretty much this (for a very attacking formation):

Likes Erik Lamela, deal with it.

I'd guess Reus as the big signing, he is probably the best young player on the planet imo and I would frankly explode if we got him.

Dortmund will not be letting him go in January, and there is no chance they would have sold him this summer after losing Gotze. That's why I think it is impossible for it to be him.

suarez is the perfect tactical fit. creative, can score, pass, dribble. can play LW, able to fill in CF when soldado is not playing, proven match winner, big game player. suarez is literally perfect in every way as a footballer, but not as a person. if we get him i hope he change. he also fits that 50mil bill. i've been saying he will make us instant contender

I'll throw this out there for discussion:

What about Shaqiri?

Obviously not worth 50m, but transfer fee and wages could end up around there. Doesn't seem like he'd be available, but is down the pecking order a bit. He's left footed and a winger. I forget if he prefers the right or left side of the field though, so forgive me if I'm off on that. It's a complete guess, but January is a long ways away haha.

As for the players already mentioned, would obviously love Muller or Reus, but don't see either happening. Suarez is quality, but he's a fucker. Mata would fit some of the criteria, but isn't likely; however, if Mourinho keeps it up, I'm sure we'll see some Mata stories. Falcao really doesn't seem likely. Hulk doesn't really fit the info, because if we offered that much, I'm sure they'd sell and I can't really see him turning down playing for AVB in England.

I could see Muller leaving before Shaqiri, they are literally stacked at CAM, and Shaqiri offers the type of attributes that Pep seems to like.

Remember, we had ITK that Willian would have no effect on Erik Lamela or Eriksen. With that in mind, I think we wanted front 4 to look like:
Willian Eriksen Lamela
Soldado

We lost Willian. So we decided to go big on a left winger. I 100% believe the 50m pound number as well. Remember we also had ITK on that 50m interest free loan from Joe? Add in we probably had about 30m to spend anyway with the PL and UEFA money(pure shot in the dark on that number...). The 50m loan would be to prove and make good on our ambition promise to AVB to get him to stay. Now we add this windows sales to that figure(approx 96m pounds to spend, with the hope of adding another 10-20m to that with BAE, Ade and Lennon sales). So we would transform the squad into a silverwear+champions league team, keep the best footballer in the PL and one of the best in the world(Bale), and prove ambition to AVB to get him to stay. The plan was to keep Bale all along, remember. We would have taken the money hit to reap the potential rewards with award money, sponsorships and huge naming rights deal. This was the plan, of course, until Perez proved funds.

When that happened, we still had alot of money to spend so we decided to go all in on a left winger to replace Bale.

IMO, the player being a left winger makes perfect sense since we missed out on Willian. So with that + the 50m figure in mind, lets dabble into some potential players...
Julian Draxler(Shalke 04) - The chairman said they'd only sell him if they got a 50m offer, but A&C told us it was not him. So we cross him off.
Alexis Sanchez(FC Barcelona) - Honestly, I have no clue if he can be a left winger so I can be way off base. But lets read the tea leaves. Barca now is surplus to requirements on the wings with the Neymar acquisition and Goat bleeted a cryptic earlier in the window of him and song. Maybe the 50 was for the swoop of both?
Andres Iniesta(FC Barcelona) - No, I will not give this obscene dream up yet, lol. Again Barca is loaded on the wings and loanded in midfield. Definitely is worth 50m right now even though he gives no re sale value. Would be a stellar signing.
Stephen El-Shaarawy(AC Milan) - Would make sense, when you think about it. Left winger. Huge potential. Is he worth 50m right now? Probably not. But in the future, he'll probably be worth alot more.
Marco Reus(Borussia Dortmund) - Left winger. Top quality. Defintley worth 50m. Dortmund would have definitely accepted the bid, IMO.

IMO, the most likely answer is Reus. But I wil never give up on Iniesta until A&C, Rob, another mod or Grey Fox say no, haha.

If we were to go back in during the January window, then we probably need to be firmly in the top 4 and within striking distance for first if we want any of them, especially Reus. Of course, Reus probably depends on how Dortmund are doing in CL. It will be tough too. The papers have linked him with the arse.

50m players that we could/would/might spendon is very less.

i) Got to be a left winger or someone play in front 3; thats where we could improve
ii) got to be <24 years
iii) Salary - we cant give sky high salary
iv) Has got to be already established given we are willing to bid 50m

In this bracket, I can see

i) Reus
ii) Thomas Muller
iii) Juan Mata
iv) Suarez

Of this, Suarez & Mata may not be let to leave by their clubs. But 50m for i) unwanted player ii) player who wants to leave isnot far fetched.
It makes more sense the possible player could be Suarez - Suarez may not wanted to move to us given both Liverpool& Spurs are not in CL. Unlike Chelsea, Liverpoool have sold their best player within PL in past.

If this 50m bid story is true, then my money is on Suarez

Really don't think it's Suarez. Fox isn't so naive to suggest we'd all go skipping naked down High Road in unanimous support of a Suarez acquisition based off his talent alone. Also a) no way Liverpool would sell their best player to us at the moment, and b) there isn't a chance in hell that if we made a bid to Liverpool for Suarez it wouldn't leak somehow. No chance.

I'm tempted to think there's a decent chance it's Falcao. Two weeks before the end of the window sounds about the time frame when Monaco was under a lot of pressure from the French league to "make fair," and so there was a chance they would have had no choice but to sell him and we saw an opportunity, which was backed by the AVB/Porto connection.

Also tempted by possibility of Benzema. It's possible he wanted to assess his situation at Madrid, especially with Bale incoming, and then reassess with consideration of the upcoming World Cup. While he's already at a "big boy," were he to be known to be available other "big boys" would indeed come calling. In line with what Fox may have been referring to with the "quiet" of the deal, this is where the "special relationship" part might have actually worked in our favor. It could possibly have been discussed over the summer, and could be done so in the winter, under the table. Could see Madrid being content with it considering Morata's rising stock and those funds could easily lure Falcao back to Madrid or bum Suarez off Liverpool.

Only other remote possibility for remotely close to that kind of money IMO is Sanchez, but really can't see him being sold for that amount.

Reus- only 50m worth player available, not linked, not Draxler, and not taken by 'the big boys'...
Miracle Baldini and Co. tempted Dortmund to sell for 50m, considering they're losing Lewandowski on a possible free, whom they could've sould for 25-30m.......

As much as my money would be on Reus, because after losing out on Willian, we needed a LF, but just can't see Dortmund telling the world they are a selling club again.

Unlikely Dortmund would sell....but absolutely can think of no one worthy of 50m. Must be James Rodriguez, maybe we're buying him back from Monaco....I don't know but it must be a LF...or LW forward.

I also thought Vidal, but Juventus chiefs claimed Vidal/Pogba both worth as much as Bale, so unlikely.
