Really! We would probably have been relegated or at least fighting for survival if we didn't have him and I don't just mean this season. Football supporters never sees to amaze me how quickly they can turn from love to hate.
I have not turned to hating him at all. I respect Kane. However, I’m allowed to call him out for being in a team that he is vice captain, when that team doesn’t look like it’s putting the required effort in including him.

I support Tottenham not Harry Kane and I’m at a point where I want this whole thing knocking down and starting again. I’m not sure if that involves a 30year FW that doesn’t seem able to press. However, I’d love to be proven wrong by the next manager.

Who needs to run faster when you can pass a ball and score goals like Kane can and sometimes both within the same move.

So, is it worth having him here for another season if it effectively costs us 100m (or whatever)?

If he wants the all time scorer he is probably better to stay put ,Utd the only ones i see getting him and they will be looking short term i think ,as part of plan to deliver league and cups (imagine surrounding Kane and Eriksen with decent players and a coach). If he stays at Spurs we will wheel him out till he gets the record ,then Levy can claim some kind of pyrrhic victory

I can't see too many clubs willing to pay £100m this summer. They'll more likely wait until he's a free agent 15 months from now.

I don't know what he's worth but 100m has been bandied about. Might be risky if they wait. We could conceivably bring in a new manager who gets us playing good, successful football that Kane enjoys which encourages him to extend. Who knows? It's not impossible. As long as we don't go for another 'let them have the ball' merchant, I think he'll at least consider it.

No I agree. If he's made up his mind he's going lets get as much as we can for him now and start to build. What I have been saying is how quickly people turn and forget. Some are blaming him for our poor performances of late and yet he is still our top goal scorer this season as he is every season (bar one).

When his contract expires, there isn't a damn thing that Levy can do to stop him going wherever he wants.
Chances are that he just won't sign an extension and will just walk off to the highest bidder next year.
Can't see him going abroad as he's always struck me as a bit of a homeboy and with a young family, I think he'll want to stay in the PL to beat the records.

If the club make drastic changes, then he may decide to stay on but I think we should get used to the fact we'll be graced with his presence for one more year, then, wish him well on his way.
True but his contract doesn't end this summer, so if he wants to go this summer ...

I agree

I think ideally we'd sell him for £80m abroad & I understand & agree that is unlikely but it will be our preferred, if we do sell to Man U or someone I think we'd like higher but would end up taking the £80m rather than losing him on a free

In my mind this is one of the things we need to get much better ... selling players at the right time & having a proper succession plan in place

It's exactly what Liverpool did with Coutinho. Their fans were up in arms about it but it enabled them to kickstart a proper rebuild which eventually led them to winning the Champions League. I'm of the opinion that if we really want to rebuild, the last thing we need is any player constantly looking at the exit door, whoever he is. If Kane won't commit, he's only got a year left so we should probably cash in and move on. I'm sick to the back teeth of all the 'will he, won't he?' bullshit that's hung around Kane and Conte for a few years now and nobody is bigger than the club. I wouldn't be surprised though if Levy refuses to sell to Utd in the hope that we'll get things going enough under a new coach to convince Kane to sign a new deal. It's an 80m gamble though.

Good luck to him, he is as culpable as anyone else for the clubs failure to win a trophy. Get what we can and move on, it is time.

While I completely agree with the rebuild comments, unfortunately I have zero faith we will get our spending right under this current regime. When Liverpool sold Coutinho they addressed their squad problems by paying record fees for a defender and goalkeeper. Can you really see Levy/Enic doing similar with us?

He wants to go.

We need a rebuild.

Although it will be painful to let him go, we may as well start the rebuild around a new way of playing without Kane.

So I say sell him and get some money, get in a decent LCB and keeper and at least have a solid backline to build on.

we'd have a ECL level forward line at best if we do that, esp with Richarlison's fitness issues

any more bright ideas?

If Kane has any sense, the identity of a new manager will have no effect on his decision to go. He's not sitting around with his fingers crossed that Spurs suddenly click into gear. We're sliding badly and he's surely done with it.

The grim thing for us is that he and his new club will do great out of the transfer, while we are likely to waste any proceeds. And maybe pick another dud manager to continue the slide. The decisions that must be made this off season are very consequential, and it'll be interesting to see if we can do much without our star striker.

Im not suggesting we dont buy another forward. Im saying we would at least have more money so could sort out our defence as well as buying a forward as we could potentially have 80 million that we won't have if we keep him a year.

Levy would love to fix all three issues with the Kane money, of course I agree with that.

Oblak, Gvardiol and Osimhen? £200m, not £80m.

Sorry, I thought I was on a Chelsea message board then for a sec.

Are you disappointed with Romero, Bentancur, Kulusevski, Bissouma, Udogie, Richarlison, Porro etc then? I don't personally think we've wasted much money of late (and Spence was more a case of Conte throwing a strop). If Liverpool had signed a few of them this place would be full of 'why can't we sign players like them?'
