Theres a guy in my gym that is still convinced that Jansen was the man to be Kanes back up. Even though ive told him he's now plying his trade in Mexico he still maintains that he should have been kept on and played more.
Change gym immediately

I’ve mentioned before the guy who owns my local cafe used to play for Red Star amongst others, and apparently is quite connected to Vlahovic - he was telling me yesterday that as far as the player knew he was coming to us this summer, 70m euro agreement in place, not 60 as touted. He was looking at properties in London, etc. he was that sure it was happening then right at the end we walked away. It’s still considered a great honour to play for a club of our level amongst Serbian players, so lots of the old players and national team were quite invested in him making the step up, but he was really upset when it didn’t come through so he (coffee guy) is saying he won’t come to us now even if we offer again (lots of cultural reasons I believe, about lost face/etc)

You've really shit on my thursday

Sounds like we were lining it up in case Harry went and then went cold when we realised he was staying.

Was quite a weird summer. The Martinez link was quite bizarre.

Such a shame that Tottenham never seem to get it the way we need it to be. Martinez and Vlahovic promised to be a superb partnership and we certainly wouldn't be struggling for chances as much.

Do you really believe that Spurs were ok with Kane coming in late? Surely not... That's the most naïve take on things I've heard. Of course Nuno said it was ok, what was he going to say? That Kane is a wanker?

And he didn't think he'd have to hand in a request due to a promise? Really?? For starters, any agreement would have been "you can go provided an acceptable bid comes in". I think we can all agree, no such bid came in. It's not like he threw his toys out of the pram because we rejected a £150m bid for him. City offered £70m up front! The gentleman's agreement was not "you can leave for whatever you deem fit in the summer of 2021".

By the way I don't know where you heard of a 130m bid...

He may well score 20 goals this season. I do think he will click into gear at some point, if nothing else, because he wants to break Shearer's record and he needs 20 a season. But that doesn't make him a professional. That makes him someone motivated by personal factors.
I believe what I have said from many factors that have come out over the past few weeks in the same way you believe what you have heard. The difference is I look at the bright side and you look at the worst side. Possibly because you feel let down that he should want to leave a team a going nowhere to one that can give him what he deserves.
You have your interpretation and I have mine. We are not going to agree so I will leave it at that.

Farmers team, but will be great for his confidence to get a hat trick in 19mins. Bring on Villa!

I’ll repeat in here what I said in the match thread.

Someone needs to get in his ear that he’s 28, not 35 and he needs to get out of midfield and play in and around the oppositions penalty area.

Although I appreciate that the lack of creativity in our midfield is a factor in him dropping deep too often.

Look at what happens when he's back to being a proper CF. His finishing was like Greaves last night... pure movement and precision. No more of these ideas of being Francesco Totti, that Jose put in his head.

Give him the 9 shirt and be done with it.

Just 40 off Greaves. 8 potential games left in this competition, could easily get 15 just in the Confrence, even if gets 15 in PL not gonna be far off by end of season.

He was doing it more for England than Spurs, Jose just took it to an extreme level.

In an ideal situation I'd have no issue with him doing both but things haven't been ideal since the 16/17 season.

Thats because Southgate builds his team around Sterling, and he's a fucking idiot because of it.
