In fairness to Sheringham he did say he would have liked to have stayed and won things with Spurs but the Club didn't match his ambition. Kane has been saying similar for a long time, so the summer window is crucial if we want him to stay.

We were a lot worse when he was at Spurs and united were dominating the PL. Its different
The season before Sheringham left for title winning United, Spurs finished 29 points behind them.
The season before Kane wanted to leave for title winning City, Spurs finished 24 points behind them.

So not really that different.

I don't see him going in the summer. The only club that could sign him are City IMO. They seem to be getting Haaland, Liverpool wouldn't and we would never sell to Chelsea. He won't go abroad as wants the PL record.

Don't think he will sign a new contract unless Conte does. If we back Conte and are progressing and Conte agrees to stay Kane will too IMO. There may be media speculation but I don't see a summer window like last this year.

Playing out of his skin atm, if he keeps this up we have a great shout of top 4. Incredible last night again.

We are witnessing one of the greatest players to play for our club but I suspect most of us really won’t appreciate it as much as we should until he’s gone.
Like the Poch years, while I enjoyed them i definitely should of enjoyed them more than I did. It'll be the same Kane, when he goes and is replaced by a player who may be good but isn't fit to lace Kanes boots then fans will realise how privileged we were to have him.

We were getting into finals and challenging for thr title. So it is different

We can't do anything about fixing the squad until the summer, but we can do something about extending the contract of our star player. That would stop Sky sports trying to sell him,and we could get on in the summer improving the squad.

I’d rather hang on to him for as long as possible and hope he signs a new deal at some point. Whatever we get for him in the summer won’t be worth 2 more seasons of Kane. If (worst case scenario) he leaves for free aged 31 then so be it.

I think Levy’s only play now is to say to Kane, “We won’t sell you this summer for any price, but you can go the next one with one year left for a fair deal.”

It’s the only way to keep Conte next year and try one last go at building a competitive side before a rebuild is the only way.

I think if we get top 4 he stays no matter what and he is playing like a man that wants top 4 bad.

If he stays fit I can see him playing for ages yet. He could beat Shearer’s total by some way if he carries on like this.
Kane is slightly behind Shearer in terms of games played versus goals scored at the moment.

He scored his 175th and 176th goals after 269 appearances. Shearer got to 175 after 250 games.
Next milestone to compare between them is 200 goals, which took Shearer 306 games to get to, so based on his current form I would say he could definitely make up some of the gap and could actually catch him!

Kane is currently averaging around 0.65 goals a game, so should hit 200 by the time he's played another 37 games, i.e. 306 games played

The other thing going in Kane's favour is Shearer really tailed off and took 44 appearances to go from 250 to 260 goals towards the end of his career, so assuming Kane stays fit, he could reach Shearer in the next 3-4 seasons at this rate, leaving himself a season or 2 breathing space as he naturally tails off as well towards the end of his own career.

He wants a competitive team
I genuinely feel like we're making an attempt now. Romero, Kulusevski, Bentancur and Conte is a good start.

If nothing else we're further in to the rebuild than we were in October. Those were dark fucking days, at least we might still be able to salvage something from this season, as unlikely as it might be.

To be fair, he does need to do that and not just as one offs but regularly. So im not fussed by what others say (personally anyways) because in reality world class players should play in those kinda games and win things. Kane clearly needs to contribute to those but lets not deny that he doesnt need those games. I mean Diaz has been here five mins and already won more than Kane...
Yet only one of those will be a club legend and one of the all time premier league greats. I don't get this obsession with titles. I mean Vardy has a PL and FA Cup title but they're still only team accolades. Shearer is a legend and won only 1 PL title. What Kane is doing puts him in a very elite group of legends. Besides I think he could stay and beat Greaves record and still have time to rack up some titles elsewhere if it doesn't happen here.

What could really help Kane is the modern day advances of sports science. I really think he can play at the top level for the best part of 10 years. He looks as fit as ever now and still just hitting his prime years. I honestly wouldn't be surprised if he got to 300 PL goals. When you look at the likes of Benzema and Lewandowski in their mid 30s still at a top level there's great hope for Kane.
