This. Hopefully Southgate ignores Kane's protests and does the sensible thing.

Whilst I agree that sometimes Kane has been his own worst enemy in the past when it comes to returning too quick from injuries, this is a World Cup.

Of course he wants to play through the pain barrier if he’s still fit enough to play.

As for Spurs, maybe as a club we should do more not just to rely on one player constantly dragging us over the line.

We’ve got both England and Brazil’s number 9 in our squad.. sounds crazy doesn’t it… hopefully we should be able to rotate at some point.

He should have been rested against the US. I'm not too worried about the foot causing a problem for Spurs, not when we have Richarlison to cover if Kane needs a few weeks. But he wasn't fully fit so shouldn't have played. Can't see him being rested now, it would become something of an uneccesary saga. It would be nice if the England team would play to his strengths for once, though, the best striker in our nation's history you'd think there would be some urgency to pass him the ball in dangerous positions.

Funny how people know the result of his scan
He got a knock, had a scan, played the next game and people saying like it's a fact he's injured. He looked no different against USA as any other game this season.

Crazy. People making up narratives just to give themselves something to be outraged about.

I suppose that’s the internet in 2022 though *sigh*

Oh he is carrying a knock on the ankle. I don’t need a scan to see that.

I also don’t blame him or England for trying to get the most out of him in the WC, even if that delays his return to Spurs. WCs are rare, and I understand the mindset of players to make the most of any opportunity they get.

I expect he will continue to play for England, and he will do whatever it takes to be available. I also expect that common sense prevails after the WC and Spurs gives him plenty of time to recover so that it does not become a recurring injury for the rest of the season.

You see what exactly? He literally looked no different against USA to any other game for us or England. There was no limp at all so I'm not sure what you're seeing. If the media didn't make such a story of it I doubt you see anything. Its just because there was speculation about it that people are seeing something that isn't there.

Harry Kane:

"I had a precautionary scan - which is common in our sport - and it came back pretty much all clear. Good to go."

Guys this is not difficult. You don’t get a “precautionary scan” unless the ankle is injured.

Again I don’t think Kane or England are doing anything wrong here. It’s a short tournament so you wrap it up and go again.

But it’s clearly injured, and right now the best treatment is rest - assuming it does not get worse. So, the smart thing for Spurs is to give him that rest after the WC, so this minor knock does not turn into a bigger issue and cause him to miss more time.

If England get knocked out by the quarterfinals, then maybe there is enough rest, but if he aggravates the injury it would make sense to give him more time to recuperate.

Wrong, you get a scan to check whether it is injured or not. Thats the point of the scan. He took a knock to the foot not the ankle, his foot was cut and he got a scan after to make sure there was nothing more serious. He was cleared and played the next game.

Guys this is not difficult. There are different injuries that a person can have at different severities, some that require more time to heal than others, some serious and some not serious at all. It is clear we don't know what type or severity of injury Kane has suffered but Bluto Blutarsky has decided to ignore everything said by Southgate and Kane and is determined to let us all know their own opinion on the injury in the most pedantic and condesending manner he can possibly say it.

Interesting use of ‘pretty much’.

He got a kick of course it's not going to be 100% all clear because i'm sure he will have a bit of bruising ffs.

You lot are nuts. Kane said he's fine, the England manager said he's fine, he played the entirety of the match against the US, he's likely to play against Wales tomorrow.

But instead you want to go with your own versions of events lol

I've got be honest, I only really watch England these days for Kane. But my patience is waring thin, if I see Saka, sterling and mount against Wales I might just turn off.

It's almost as bad as watching spurs this season.

I have watched a shitload of teams at the world cup and we are not going to win the thing. Can we at least be entertained a little, Maddison and grealish would be great.

Or anyone at this point who has the ability to receive the ball in a midfield position and pass the ball to Kane!

The only player who looks like creating anything for England (other than Kane) is Luke Shaw..... That's how bad the situation is.
