I get where you're coming from re: Levy but I do think Kane cares about his legacy. He is happy to go to Utd or City for example. However, if he went to Arsenal or Chelsea it would put him in the same ballpark as Sol Campbell and I doubt he would think its worth it. If he tried to bluff Levy with that I suspect Daniel wouldn't blink.

I think its as simple as sell to Utd this summer or he goes to Utd/City for free next year. The third option, signing a new contract, is still viable but a lot will need to change between now and the end of the year. Nagelsman and new major investment may help..
I'm not sure he can afford to take that risk. His popularity is at an all-time low, pressure is building and, whilst it's a season away, can you imagine the reaction were Kane to join Chelsea? Levy would be blamed big time.

Or does he take the circa £75m from United this summer and dress it up as part of the 'rebuild'?

Personally I do think he'll hold onto Kane and pray that the new manager turns things around unbelievably quickly and he can convince him to sign a new contract. That is a long shot but he'll think 'I tried'.

I think so too. He'll also think the main focus of the fans fury (but not all) will be on Kane himself for signing for Chelsea etc.

Can't see where he's said this. Has only mentioned him on twitter once since march 18th. Assume a video somewhere

I think perhaps it would be best for everyone to simply make peace with the fact that loyalty in football is now (almost) 100% transactional. Fans will show their support when they like what they see on the pitch, but will withhold that support (or become abusive) when they don't. Players will stay at a club if the club can give them what they want - trophies, money, a chance to play, etc. - and will leave once the club can't do that. And managers will work for a club when it matches their career objectives.

There's no unconditional love, loyalty, or support in football.
Also the hatred fans have for clubs doesn't translate to the players. The players don't hate Chelsea players, they are pretty friendly these days. Even the north London derby is lacking the same flare ups of the past. There's a number of international team mates and although competitive it's generally kept professional. I don't think the players are as concerned with joining rivals than the fans. Hoddle is happy to talk about his Chelsea days even in the presence of Spurs fans. We had the battle of the Bridge but it soon moved along and we were pretty friendly in following games. There was the flare up between Conte and Tuchel but players were not involved. I don't think there's a lot of bad blood between the players nowadays so the possibility to move from one London club to another maybe isn't so unlikely.

Hmmm... The way he says it sounds very much just like an opinion. A very broad generalisation
His direct line of information is gone. I don't expect him to be as reliable in future, not that he ever was. Bloody tap in merchant.

I expect Kane to leave, and after the past few years I can’t blame him too harshly for doing so - but I do think there’s a difference between this summer and 2021. Joining Man City was as close as you can get to a guarantee of trophies, not just cups but multiple league championships and as good a chance as anyone at CLs. Drop Kane into United now (or god forbid Chelsea ) and they wouldn’t even be favorites to win the league - depending on how Arsenal and Pool strengthen they might not even be second favorites. There’s a very real chance he goes to either of those clubs on a five year deal and never wins the PL or CL. He basically has to weigh the (much) higher chance of winning a Carabao or FA Cup against the value he assigns to being a “one club” man (if anything) - and the risk that if his form dips, he will get a lot more time and patience to figure it out at Spurs than elsewhere which could affect his pursuit of Shearer.

Im feeling calm about the Kane situation, surprisingly.
Kane has given his all to Spurs. IF Levy and co once again can convince him to stay I would be over the moon. He a world class player as we all know.
If he decides to go we cant blame him. Lets get as much as possible.

I think you underestimate the enmity towards Levy at the club now. Would Kane really join Arsenal? Probably not. Chelsea, maybe. But he’ll certainly use the prospect to get his way this summer. He’s not waiting for the final year to wind down like I thought he may.

There is zero chance of him signing a new contract. Again, delusion, if anyone believes it. This is gonna get very messy this summer.
there are far too many moving parts here to be as certain as you think you are. I can see him going to Utd though, if the take over goes through and they make 2-3 major signings he may be convinced, and if their offer tops £100m we may well take it.

I think it is realistically one of Levy’s only ways to fix his reputation if by some miracle get Kane to sign a new deal.

I’m still surprised so many journalists and people on here talk about selling him to Madrid/Bayern etc. He’s spoken about the premier league record so many times and wanting to break it - he stays in England until that’s done.

If that record still stands, there’s no way he heads abroad until it’s beat.
