No matter all the talk and acceptance of the possibility of Kane going, this does fucking hurt.
Yep. I understand the decision the club had made, I don't like it, but I get it. Losing Kane is gonna suck. I live in hope that Richie and son can step up somewhat and we complete the 1st team with the money we get for him.

Based on Rob/the Goat, it seems possible that club agreement was reached last week but levy did then have one final attempt at persuading him to sign one of the new contracts and that has been knocked back today so they have release the news of the accepted bid now.

Moving this here

I reckon he will stay, I don't think he really wants Bayern, not saying he wouldn't join them or like to play for them but I don't think Kane has his heart set on Bayern. Levy isn't ever going to allow himself to appeared pressured into doing anything and I think Bayern didn't anticipate the situation as it was and aren't going to be able to get thing's together for how they want it.

There's a small part of me that thinks Kane enjoys the comfort of Spurs really and set the deadline himself to force the issue without admitting he wants to stay and losing bargaining power.

Levy's called his bluff I think, I think Levy by accepting the deal, has put the pressure on Kane because I think he knows Kane wants to stay really but he wants the leverage of not signing a new deal. He's trying to remove that leverage by having Kane turn down Bayern.

It’s ok, we’re going to sell Elvis and sign The Beatles.
We’re not. 90 mil wont make that much difference. I’ve accepted he’s gone but would want much higher levels of attackers than we have currently. Ideally we buy some extremely hot prospect who’s already doing it at a young age.

Feels like this is the plan all along is to accept it without going to the media so that we can still haggle selling clubs we’re in negotiations with. I said from the jump that this feels all too much like the Bale deal. Now it’s also likely that things have changed daily.

Regardless, I can’t see Harry accepting the move after all the back and forth and the psychological tax after all of it. At this point if his primary goal is win something and doing it in England, no way he accepts. He’ll wait to see how we progress and/or assess other English clubs worth playing for.

I have been mentally prepared for this the whole summer. Always knew Levy will never give up 100m , if Kane isnt going to sign the new deal.

I hope we move on now quickly.

Can we get a striker in before the weekend ?
Zero chance with the speed Levy negotiates. Be lucky if we sign any players before transfer window ends.
Sure if we sign anyone it be 15-20m cheapies!

Come on… it’s ALWAYS Levy’s fault

:cautious:
club gets 100 mill instead of fuck all and its Harry who wants to go. Sign a new contract so we get money next season , stay this year and see what Ange can do, if not going well can still leave with a bigger variety of suitors in the mix..or bugger off now , uproot your family , win a menaingless league trophy and have a sniff at the Champions league...and repay the clubs loyalty and the fans with nothing back..there I said it

My educated guess with that's happened.

Bayern made an "acceptable" bid last week (as our ITKs said).
Levy got to work on replacements, with an agreement that Bayern kept quiet and leaving the decision with Kane.
Kane's a lot less sure than he was given how long it took Bayern to commit, his wife's imminent pregnancy, the reception he got after scoring 4, etc.
Knowing what Kane's said about a deadline before the season starts, Bayern are starting to leak to the press that an offer's been accepted to put the pressure on.

I reckon it could go either way still.
Puzzled as to where Herc's update fits into that timeline? Edit - just seen his follow up disclaimer.

My sincere apologies. I went by what I heard last night. Not doing that again. Sorry for getting hopes up. I was convinced. And went against my cautious nature
No problem Hercules, not your job to raise or squash our hopes just pass on what you are told and we're 100% grateful for that. 👍

I would walk if I was Ange, this is self destruction and complete negligence.

The whole board should be sacked.
Really he knew it when he joined, this is football reality which is the reason level headed ppl involved in running clubs not emotional wrecks.

Why don't we set proper deadlines? Criminal to accept this three days before the season starts ffs. Just setting the team up for failure with this bullshit

Because its not realistic to. There's a known objective external deadline.
Attempting to impose your own is part of a negotiation and will either a)inevitably reduce the fee offered because its a stipulation from the selling side
Or
b) is a bluff you'll have to reveal to be a bluff, negatively affecting your credibility in future and in general being embarrassing

At least there's a few weeks of the window. That's good for us. Could have sold him with days to go and scrambled for a poor replacement. Now we need to get players in quick with the money.

I will say though if this is made official it has to be the final nail in the coffin for Levy and ENIC. Time for a takeover. Otherwise we will never keep our best players let alone sign some.

West Ham are getting £80m for fucking Lucas Paqueta and we're getting £95m for the one of the best players in world football and a club legend. Feel sick.

Can't wait to spend it on players we should have bought anyway and a couple of young guns with high re-sale value.
