Also shows that you shouldn't write off any youth players too early - or alternatively, build them up too much.
I think so too, but winning the league cup (which may not happen i dont know whether that cup will be sacrificed due to fixture congestion) and finishing 5th/6th is not going to get Kane thinking we are going places...

My view on players has always been the same since Bill Nicholson retired up till that point players did not or it was not obvious a player wanted to leave the club . Them days you did not really get players wanting to leave any club it was not until George Eastham forced a move up to that point players were almost tied to a club until they did not want them any more now we have a complete turn around and players can not only force a move but move for free on a bowman . Players like LE Tissier and Steve Bull are rare . I know Steve Bull left for a year but that was because the club was in financial dier straits he did not want to leave Wolves .
So how my view has changed is pre 1970 it was not an issue .
Now the players have the power if they want to move dont try to hang on to them just get as much money as possible and move on .
Recent memory players that have forced a move that are prominent spurs players Carrick / Bale / Walker / Berbatov / Sherringham / to name but a few if they want to go then get rid as they will make things so awkward that you are better off without them .
Having said all that I believe Kane would be happy to stay at a club he obviously loves and lets hope Jose can bring us a cup or two so as to stop all this speculation . The club unfairly has been called by some a selling club but all these players I have mentioned were quite willing to make it so as the club had no option but to sell although the club wanted to keep them they were sold not because they wanted the cash but because the players now hold all the cards and there was no option .

I know what you are saying.
But all this “Kane needs to move to win trophies” is total bollox.
The man played in a CL Final 12 months ago.... and didn’t turn up.
From my hazy memory whenever we had a huge win or bust game going for the league or a cup semi (which we had a few)almost every time he was injured or didn’t turn up.
He has had more than enough chances to win a trophy here. This one season we have been off the pace.
It the most bollox narrative of modern times.
