Anyway........I haven't got much sympathy with anyone put in strife because they went abroad for a break and then complaining about it (Not that he is), the chances of quarantine rules catching you out is obvious. In Kane's case, I suspect that's what happened, the UK re-imposed quarantine requirements for travellers arriving from the Bahamas about a fortnight ago so it wouldn't surprise me if he just got caught out and the rules changed while he was already there.

It's inconvenient but that's all really, it's no big deal. He'll work hard while he's in isolation and soon catch up when he returns.

I still don't know why on earth players went out of country during this time? What was the club smoking?

funny thing is Liverpool going to Austria and have been told they wouldn’t need to isolate, Madrid came for the UK and didn’t have to isolate ??‍♂️

Maybe he’s at Uncle Joe Lewis? Stealing parrots ??

A cunning plan between Harry and Jose to force baldy's hand while placing the blame on an incompetent government? Stranger things have happened, see the laundry cart for reference.

I'd be less surprised if DL didn't give him a holiday at his holiday home with the knowledge that he'd have a couple more weeks rest that no one else in the squad could moan about.

Do you think that Daily Mail reporter got a tip off that an England star called Harry might be in trouble because of his travels... and rushed to the back pages with a non-story about Kane when the tip off was actually about Harry Maguire getting arrested in Greece?

Seems unlikely as Daily Mail reporters are renowned for doing forensic like due diligence.

I don't understand why he can't return to training sooner, if he's tested and it comes back negative. I thought all PL players and coaching staff currently have to be tested for COVID-19 twice per week and I haven't seen anything in the media suggesting that he has tested positive.

I'd assumed the blanket 14-day quarantine period is to avoid people's holidays becoming a burden on the NHS and tax-payers. Surely it shouldn't apply if the individuals employer is sourcing and funding the test.

What am I missing?

Your problem is you're trying to apply logic to how we approach Covid.

Some jockeys including Frankie Dettori have had to self isolate after coming back from any country on the Governments Covid list and cannot compete in their sport, they have to take a test as soon as possible on return and then give a 2nd clear test 7 days later, they then get the all clear to resume racing or whatever sport it is, not sure if that cover footballers going on holiday. Here's the Frankie story so assume same must apply to Harry if he has been somewhere on the Covid list but can he just do the 7 days or will he have to do 14 like most people coming back from holiday..

I don't know when Harry flew back, but the reports say he can resume training next week - that quite possibly is only 7 days after he returned to the UK.

To avoid quarantine, can he not take and pass a Covid test?

They haven’t made that measure available to regular members of the public. You can take the test if you like, but the gov won’t give two hoots about the result, you still need to isolate.
