apologies if posted somewhere already, and if this is the wrong thread for it
prof/galahad the gnome on coys: Unsurprisingly, the interest in HK from both Man Utd and Chelsea is 100% legit and strong. They also know that our desire to sell is 0%, so expect a campaign to be waged through the media, by both clubs, to try and turn his head. The Daily Mail piece is just the start. So far there has been no direct contact from either club with Spurs, or with HK's agent.
I'm disliking the detail not the supplier.
Kane just looks happy here. He's Tottenham. We are riding high. Just don't see what he could possible accomplish at Manure or the scum? He seems down to earth. And for that reason I can't see it happening. But it's football. And it's money and I have been wrong in the past. Don't donit Harry. Become the next King. Not the next Bale.

Don't see it happening. The minute Levy sells our homegrown star, one of our own idol, to one of our competitors - well we may as well just give up aspiring to be one of the top Clubs in this Country.

If Real Madrid come calling that could prove different but given the state United and Chelsea are in we'd be mad to sell for any price, and I mean any price.

We'll have a new stadium eventually, we're showing real signs of progress under Pochettino now - with a settled squad brimming with young English talent.

Time to start acting like a bigger Club - we can do all the talking in the world, but it has to be backed up by action.

Of course this all goes out the window if Kane were to really demand a move but I honestly can't not see than happening with Harry. particularly if we were to qualify for the CL this season.

We're going places under Pochettino and providing we're prepared to offer him more money that is commensurate with his current ability and what he's producing he shouldn't really have a big need to leave us for a 'Chelsea' etc. He must be rewarded appropriately though and I expect that to be the case in due course.

If there's serious interest then I'm sure Levy will beef up his contract pretty soon now that he's found his goal scoring form again.

It's awhile since we sold anyone to United and we haven't dealt with Chelsea in years. I smell overenthusiastic press offices attempting a little destabilising...

Indeed, we've not sold a player we didn't want to get rid of to an English team for 7 years now, and yet the press seem to think (or want us to be) we're still pushovers.

its only normal that they are interested. anyone would. and in my opinion money can turn anyone's head. If you run any business you will know to keep your best staff you just have to pay them. when the interest gets more intense, give kane a contract that smashes bale and show everyone that as long as you play well, stays loyal, we WILL reward you.

the worst kind of boss are those who wants you to stay, under pays you for what you are worth, and unwilling to bump up your pay regardless of how you perform. If there is no sign that your boss will reward you for giving more, anyone would want to leave under such bosses.

we have to bump his pay and include a no local sales clause before he even has a hint of doubt in his mind. the moment he has we are pretty much fucked.

its the same as the moment you try to look at your girls phone and she ask why, you know you are pretty much fuck. just gotta lay down the ground rules before the honeymoon period ends

I'd just let him run out his current contract. 5 more years of the best striker in the league at 40k a week. He's free to move where he likes after that.

100m or gtfo.

I think there is a perception that Kane is a 40-50 million pound player, when another 30 goal season would put him at a minimum in the Suarez bracket and it would need to be a world record to justify a domestic sale. Chelsea simply aren't shopping in that market post FFP.

Clearly, it would be better to resign him for a longer period, but essentially we only have to worry about him leaving for nothing prior to 2018-19 when he will still have two years on his contract. Given that Eriksen, Dembele, Vertonghen and Lamela will all only have two years or less on their contract this summer, we really shouldn't be worried about the guy with four.

Do you really think that paying him 40k a week for the duration of his current contract and then letting him go on a free is financially astute? Do you think not giving him a pay increase based on improved performance is going to motivate him to play to his highest level!? I'm glad you're not running the club.

No need to get panicky over his contract just yet. It's nice natural progression. He's 22 and on a great contract for his age. I'm ignoring status and performance I know but I think this keeps him grounded. If his next contract is up nearer 100k in a season or two so be it. But it's about keeping him grounded and not becoming a Sterling.

It's when we panic and he signs a one year extension on 150k that I know he's likely off.
