We don’t owe him anything, and if it’s true that this interview was done two weeks ago even more so.

We could have been pushing for a top 4 slot with all this shit going into the final 2 games of the season. He would have known the date it was going to be put out.

He may well be a Spurs fan but I won’t see him any differently to the others that have upped and left, especially if it’s to win some hollow trophies with City.

I know i'm in dreamland but the ITK in general and the fact all the obvious names have been ruled out by JJ is starting to make me feel we have poached an absolute worldy from another top club that we would all laugh at the suggestion of as being possible.
I agree, however I genuinely cannot think of who might fit the bill. Herc and trix seem to have heard rumblings of a candidate that is exciting. I cannot think of a realistic manager who, when the name drops the majority on here will shit themselves with excitement...

Looking at the 2 scenario's of H staying or going :

A. We keep him, still don't win any trophies over the next 3 years and he runs his contract down over that time and we get Zilcho for him or very little.

B. Sell him now for approx 120m, invest that in the team for the future and still don't have any trophies in the next 3 year's.

After 3 years, will we be in a better position with scenario A or B.

Or C - Perhaps he stays one more season (he's under contract) and we sell him in 12months for 120m perhaps with more buyers at the table?

I'm not banking on him staying, I think a huge amount hinges on the new manager and some progression on the team improvements but no option is likely to end in us getting zero for him, it's not as binary as 120m or nothing.

City win the CL final, meaning Pep’s job is done there and he heads over to us...

Mega optimistic thinking from me!

My best mate and I, aged 11, wrote a letter to Teddy pleading with him not to leave, we even printed it onto a poster of him.

Didn’t work.

I wrote a letter to him when I would have been around 8, sending him my prized poster of him off the wall, asked him to sign it.

Never replied - never got my poster back.

I decided he might be a bit of a twat at that point, and my resentful childish mind has actually never seen evidence to correct that ?‍♂️

Clearly wants to leave but says he sees himself having another 8/10 years in his career so he's not desperate for anything.

To me this all screams of a massive conversation with Levy where Levy will promise to show ambition etc this summer and if Kane still isn't happy next summer then he'll let him go as it'll be the last chance for us to get good money for him with two years on his contract.

Kane will then only be 28 and will probably be able to stay at another club for 6/7 years and win a bunch of trophies.

Exactly how I interpreted this. Lets hope so anyway.

I take no joy in it, I laughed out loud. Honestly it's not that serious that it demands four paragraphs
I struggle with succinctness.
Fuck all to do with sentimentality.

We've been stung too many times by players running deals down.

If Harry wants out, let him go. We owe him that.
The board owes the fans first and foremost, and that means that if they have to sell Harry, it has to be for an amount which can be put straight back into the team to make it better than the current team is with Harry in it.

You had a mate?
Yeah, your mum!

Yep, anything less than Pep or Klopp and I won’t be satisfied now!

ENIC would be negligent to not put Spurs first.
I don't think many people believe otherwise.

The reality is, though, the £150m figure that people have dancing around their head is not reflective of Kane's real value. Only two players have ever sold for that figure - Neymar, at age 25, and Mbappe at age 20.

Teams simply don't (and won't) pay those types of fees for 28 yo players with a history of ankle problems - even players at Kane's level.

£100m is a better estimate of value, and then you might tack on a few million each for selling domestically, and to a "rival".

Next year, the price will be even lower - and that assumes Kane does not suffer another injury. So, what is better for the club - slogging through another season with Kane, and then selling at a reduced price? Or, selling the player now, and buying into an otherwise depressed market, and giving the new manager a fresh start?

People can disagree on which they prefer - but clearly ENIC can both sell Kane and still be putting Spurs first.

I've heard from a few people he is a complete twat so your younger self was spot on.

Seen the clip with Neville and it sounds nothing like he's desperate to leave. Sounds more like he wants us to push on and win trophies. He'll weigh up his options but I can't see us sell yet. Run down the contract and then play elsewhere for 5 years if we still win nothing. I can honestly see him going the same route as Sheringham who left at 31, he could leave at 29/30 and clean up trophies with a Madrid or City for a few years.
