This whole situation dents his professional reputation for me.

No-one would have thought he would act like such a big man-child (especially as Man City as stated many times in this thread haven’t even bothered to match the fee we’ve set).

Lets hope this is the start of pundits and ex-footballers condemning his actions

Rio is so dense.

He's also an incredibly disloyal person, so of course he is going to say not turning up for training is the right call. He didn't turn up to a drugs test.

His opinion on these matters is completely invalid.

Yes but the fact remains....... We have only 1 recognised striker. 13 days until we start the season. Who wants to leave. Not great is it ?

Standard stuff from us though tbh - we usually start seasons with at least one position seriously neglected!

If this is the case why haven't Spurs said so and shut the story down? There's a reporter outside of the training ground all they need to do is send someone out and confirm it.

Why should they?

If the club had to run around answering every rumor surrounding every player, every time there was a headline it would never stop would it. I can't think of any club doing this, or being foolish enough to pander to the MSM in this way.

Didn't Nuno make this very clear in his first press conference regarding Harry's future?

When have we ever done that as a club? the club just don't get involved in rumours. Not once did the club say anything when Poch was supposedly off to Madrid at any minute. I think its sensible if you say anything the situation can change and you end up looking like you've been forced to backtrack. Just ignore the nonesense and do things in private is a far better way forward.

If the club was under the impression that Harry was staying until today's unrest then we also have to presume that current transfer negotiations were being made without the inclusion of the funds from his sale financing such moves. We are surely then to also assume that if he was sold that money would be additional to the anticipated spending budget. One thing is for certain, give Fabio and Nuno €150m and it won't be squandered. The current Romero situation is testament to that.
I was thinking this before.

If we were in for a relatively big spend, assuming Kane was staying, then I honestly think we should just press on with the signings and be adamant Kane stays unless the price is met. If he shows ill-discipline, then he is simply left out of the team and we go ahead and sign Vlahovic (and maybe others) and tell Kane he will sit out until he is ready to return. Or he remains on the naughty step.

We cannot afford to have a sulking player around the squad BUT at the same time we cannot allow him and City to bully us into accepting a lower fee that suits them.

We have to be strong.

Never in my life I thought I would agree with Jamie fooking Carragher.
Kane's moves are terrible and pathetic. There is nothing wrong with Spurs at this situation. If he wants to leave so desperately he can always make a transfer request without these childish pathetic shenanigans.
Or just phone Pep or Begiristain and beg them to get 200 mil and save him from this terrible torment and misery which is Spurs for him currently.
Disgusting behaviour. At this point I would be fucking grateful if they will take him as soon as possible (for 160-200 mil off course). Just fuck off.
Rant over.
I'm sorry, my dear SC friends

I get that Kane deserves the transfer based on our current team, but he is part of a generation that cannot complain about the lack of chance to dispute titles. He will lose my respect if this is the way he chooses to handle his transfer. I would be happy with 150m so he can go and win titles with that fake club. You dont want your leader be someone that doesn't want to be part of the team, the fact he is 28 is the help i need to let him go, but tell City to make a decent transfer offer (150m+).

Because no matter what Spurs say it will be twisted to fit the media agenda and do little but add fuel to the fire with more incendiary articles.......at the end of the day, the media aren't going to opnely admit they've been cockwombles that make shit up to fill their 24/7 broadcasting schedule.

I'm pretty sure that is the reason that Poch wouldn't give any interviews when he came to the UK - everyone assumed it was because he couldn't speak English, but the reality was that he considered the media to be a giant bunch of ****s!

Fuck me, if it's true that Kane wasn't due to start training till tomorrow anyway, Sky Sports News has a MASSIVE apology to make to everyone for scaring the living crud out of us all fucking day long for absolutely no reason apart from them being utter dickheads who don't know WTF they're doing. I wonder how they'll try to keep their credibility if it's true! Tossers.
.
Mate, they know exactly what they are doing.

Having worked with my brother for over 6 years I have only one piece of advice for Harry "Don't trust him !!"

Only joking really Francesco :)

Does the ITK say that he's not turned up or that he wasn't actually set back for today? Surely that would be a real easy one to work out for people with connections at the club. It's not like the SkySports bellends can be trusted with anything.

If he refuses to train I hope we sell him to City in time for the opener. He deserves the reception.

I said when we sold Berbatov that the best way to ‘welcome’ him back would be to go completely silent every time he was on the ball.

booing shows dislike (which implies we care about him leaving). Silence shows complete apathy! I know which I’d prefer of the two.

Will never happen of course.

My observations -

1. Its mostly media created drama and fancy wording, I haven’t seen a shred of logic being used by any of these journalists. They are all chasing the story here and I highly doubt Kane would flat out refuse to show up for training.

2. The situation hasn’t changed one bit if City pays he goes. They have the money, but will they break the rules to get him? That’s the real question here.

3. Both Lewis and Levy seem to be involved here, you can guarantee he won’t leave for a penny less than what they value him at. So “refusing” to train does nothing but harm his reputation.

4. Harry’s brother is a right prick.

5. I couldn’t care less whether he stays or goes all I care about is my club getting the value it deserves and coming out on top. Levy has never failed in this regard when it comes to letting go of star players.

Long Story Short we still have nothing to worry about, Kane is just pissing on our trousers a bit.

By handing in a transfer request he would be losing that 10% loyalty payment (should he get the transfer), whereas by going on strike he is only losing a few days pay..........all clubs should write it into contracts that a strike to push a transfer is akin to a transfer request and negates any loyalty payments due.
