There were reports a few months ago that his agent was in England and we had talked to the, amongst others. What’s interesting is that he isn’t actually joining Barca until 2024 so makes you wonder if that would have been the case if he would have come at the same point if we had pulled it off. Also he’s pretty adaptable, he can play on the wing as a secondary position. Personally I wouldn’t be surprised if we would have looked to replace Richy with him.

He has been pushed by Deco to Barca, he has been trying to make this move as well. So, I think it was always in vain.

Shame, as I do think he would have been a superb signing, he just keeps getting better and better and his movement is superb for a young striker. He has that Suarez appetite for goals and being direct.
