I do just think it's a bit sad; I get that players have always gone to the best teams but Bayern will win anyway. It reminds me a bit of Van Persie going to United - yes he won the title, but he burned his Arsenal bridges to become just another face at United. Same with Alexis Sanchez, actually, but that didn't even have the success he wanted. So unless he has a Modric/Bale-esque impact where he's a figure of their most successful period in years, I just don't see this going the way he ideally wants, given that legacy is clearly important to him. Plus, it's a huge change for a player who's 30 years old - how often has a player made their big move that far into their career?

Realistically, he'll win a few trophies that they'd win with or without him - I do sincerely hope it's worth it, and that The Age of Ange makes him a very successful warm-up act. If this sounds bitchy and like a coping mechanism, it's because it is.
Definitely get what you're saying. Personally I liked van Persie a lot better after he left Arsenal lol.

I think with Kane, either way, whatever happens from now, he knows he's already secured club legend status here and will always be welcome back. As much as we wish he would stay forever it's not looking likely so for me now I think I'm almost at the acceptance stage, if he goes to Munich or Paris or Madrid I just wish him well. And I would absolutely take up the buyback option in a couple years time, don't care what anyone thinks.

My 5c: he’ll go this window, it won’t be for 100m, we’ll reinvest most of that money in players of which only 1 in 3 will be a success, he‘ll win the Bundesliga (yawn) but no Champions League, on aggregate we will neither improve nor weaken significantly from our current level in this first season (but the football will probably be more exciting), Kane will never play for Spurs again.
My Prediction. We will finally sign 2 CBs, both ok but won’t really transform our defence. With the addition of Maddison, we will be told that’s what the Kane money was spent on. Richarlison will be our Kane replacement with no one else signed, as “that’s what Ange wants” .. Richarlison gets injured and we are up shit street early on in the season.

Can’t help feel downbeat about ENIC trying to replace Kane.

You can fluff up Bayern all you like but I think we'd all seen him at Madrid or Barcelona as the top of the tree in terms of European prestige if he had to move on.

He deserves the profile that comes with playing for Madrid above Bayern, who are imo beneath him. There's a reason that the biggest players don't move to Germany in their prime, and he's in the absolute premier bracket of player, for me.

Bayern are still huge, and adding Kane gives them a good shot at a CL. Worst case scenario he only hoovers up some domestic trophies. I'm sure he'll be back in the premier league later on.

It's more timing than anything anyway.. Eriksen didn't get his expected move to a Spanish giant but still bagged himself a title at Inter and a move back to Utd to get another cup.

Will I ever find true love?

I do think Levy would be very conscious of the need to buy another forward if we sell Kane, even if it's not a super expensive 80-100m one.

The PR of selling the club's all time top scorer and not signing another forward would be catastrophic.

He’d be my clear 1st choice if Kane left.
Fast, can dribble, good finisher.
He’d be perfect for Ange’s system.

I put this here recently...

From data point of view, of all the transfer links we have had, Muani is the best matched with Kane's output. Ofcourse his style is different but similar on effectiveness.

Muani still needs to be more clinical interms of finishing & Expected goals but he does contribute a lot to general play.

I’ve loved Kane to pieces. He’s been one of the very best players I’ve seen at Spurs and has given me some great, exhilarating joyful moments (And I’m old enough to have seen Greaves, Jones and Blanchflower).

But I think the time has come for him to move on in his interests and in the club’s.

Interesting. Any idea what sort of money we'd be talking about for the lad?

Yes. No one will ever replace Harry but the data shows he's someone who consistently scores and get assists:

- 23 goals, 17 assists in 22/23
- 13 goals. 7 assists in 21/22
- 10 goals, 9 assists in 20/21

Reminds me of Kane's season under Mourinho

Probably be a heavy investment because he's only a year or two into a contract that goes to 2027 and 24 years old, but may be worth it. The last point is when he's not playing in the middle, he's played RW for France and Frankfurt in matches here and there. Would be good options for Son/Solomon - Muani/Richarlison - Kulu/Muani.
