Yeah, sad as that is to think about. He could have been our Totti, but unlike Roma we failed to win anything. Maybe if we'd won the league back in 2016, or the CL of course.

Still think he deserves a statue tbf.
He doesn’t deserve a statue, would make us look utter West Hammers.

Agree to disagree.

Having said that, if Harry goes I'm getting myself a shirt with Son on the back, and I've never had any players named shirt. Love his loyalty.

Interesting how not a single report has been fed to state that Kane isnt for sale in response to yesterdays reporting.

You would have thought if Levy was digging his heels in, he would have fed Eccleshare, Gold and Kilpatrick

Yeah there’s an increasing air of inevitability about it all now IMO, I’d love to be wrong but I think we all know how this movie ends.

I've come to terms with it now and just want it dealt with quickly.... wishful thinking I know.

Think it will benefit us in the long run really, we've been far too reliant on Kane for far too long imo.

Yep, all the noise and smoke is around one outcome - Kane leaving to go abroad.

Still lots that needs to happen (someone has to actually pay a fee Levy would accept and Kane has to agree to the move instead of playing out his final year to enter free agency), but it definitely feels much more likely than it did a couple weeks ago.

If Mbappe leaves PSG, they will definitely go all in for Kane and then Levy and Kane will have to make a decision this summer.

I don't believe Kane will break the scoring record if he goes abroad. For £100m PSG will not be buying him only for 2 seasons and will expect to keep him for 3 to 4 years. Whilst Kane will have to decide if he wants Ligue 1 titles and a couple of French Cups or that Premier League goal scoring record and potentially an FA Cup or League Cup with Spurs

He has kind of become too big for us.

I dont mean that to say we are now a midtable team.

I mean in the sense that he has so much focus on him that too much centres around him. Not even deliberately, just that he has to be challenging for every honor going whereas we have some developmemt to do and he may hold us back a bit, if that makes sense?

Kane quite simply cannot be taken out of the starting line up. Even if he is playing poorly and not being effective. Ange needs to have that authority where anyone can be subbed.

For the last few years Son and Kane have been untouchable.

That cant happen because you prevents others from proving themselves.

I kinda hope Kane would want to stay and guide some younger players but I think thats naive.

His motivation isnt to see Spurs win. It is to have success and reach the next level.

If you recall the discussion he had with Jose about reaching Messi or Ronaldo level, well that will be his aim.

I dont think its fair on him when people use him being at Tottenham as reason for him to not be considered the best in the world but he also wont get those plaudits at Spurs.

Unfortunately in football you need to be competing for CL and winning titles to be considered as greatness.

At Bayern, Madrid or City he will get that.

Greatness for us doesnt look like it will quelle that desire.

This is true, and were we Brighton right now i'd 100% be excited and back the transfer knowing we'd very likely replace Kane with excellent recruitment.

But then you remember how well we've replaced past top players, Vertonghen, Toby, Walker, Rose, Eriksen, Dembele, Dele.. The excitement starts to dwindle.

It's the same decision to be made joining Bayern though isn't it? Albeit Bayern are a far more prestigious club than PSG, but in the short term, i'd saying Domestic German titles are a little better than the French ones, I think both teams also right now are close in terms of likelyhood of winning the CL next year.

Bale's departure all those years ago has prepared me for the outcome if it happens:LOL:

I think Shearer's record is safe for now if he goes abroad, don't see him coming back in a few years and putting up the numbers he gets now.

I don’t see Kane in the French league really I don’t. Yes they might have a chance in the champions league but history says they couldn’t win it with mbappe and messi. So what chance now ??

Winning the French league means jack . And is he really going to enjoy trips to Angers, Nantes etc..

Fuck me the German league has more appeal than the farmers league

If Kane goes to Bayern or to PSG, it’s not for winning domestic trophies which would scarcely count as an achievement as both of those clubs dominate their league without even trying; it’s for competing for CL titles and for the recognition of leading one of the best clubs in the world, Balon d’Or nominations, etc. Paris are as much a marketing brand as they are a football club, to be their star is to be one of the most famous footballers on the planet, and they have infinite money and will keep spending until they get what they want.
