Now is the time.

Absolute class player, legend.

But how we intend to play now is not the most compatible with Harry's current style and attributes.

I'm weirdly confident that we'll see scintillating football this season under the new regime and without Harry - and I don't mean that disrespectfully at all.

I'd be bummed because I truly believe no matter what system it is, Kane will find a way to score goals. I think he'd get plenty of chances under Ange once they figure out where to get him the ball.

However, I do really agree with you. It's not me accepting or being brainwashed, but I think we'll create enough chances to score near the same amount of goals as last season. It may be a more "by committee" apporach, but so be it.

Our defense is pretty bad, was bad last year, and hasn't really improved. If the funds can shore that up, I think we may be pleasantly surprised.

Man Utd has won 2 Premier Leagues, 1 Fa Cup, 2 Carabao Cups, and a Europa League since Ronaldo left in 2009.

Jesus

I mean while that's obviously very good by most people's standards etc, I forgot how comparatively poor they've been for so long. The leagues and 1 of the league cups were all still under Ferguson, who left a decade ago, too.

He can win the Ballon Dor there imo. And he can play CL every season and be in with a chance of winning. Bayern are a huge draw for a player.

This 1000000%. Yes maybe the league and cups there won't mean much to his legacy. But Lewa probably would have won it in the covid season, Kane could replicate those numbers in his sleep.

You know he'll back himself to be top scorer of UCL and lead them to it as well.

Absolutely no faith, selling Kane results in signing Tapsoba and Muani (others even saying 2cbs plus a forward).

Still missing something in Kane wanting the Munich move, rather than a huge sign on fee to the destination of his choice in a year's time. Never mind a likely long standing Prem scoring record. Maybe some later stages of the CL, winning def not a given. When was the last German Ballon D'or winner? Maybe once it's happened in my lifetime. (To be fair that is an equal amount of occasions to us winning the FA Cup!)

his really giving up the Prem record for Bayern, wow
Bit of kiwI nostalgia, our greatest ever player Wynton Rufer won a Bundesliga title and EUFA cup winners cup with Werder Bremen. But he’s not remembered for those achievements, he’s fondly remembered as the Greatest player ever to pull on an All Whites shirt, a kiwi footballing legend. Moral of the story, no one gives two tosses for a Bundesliga title but a genuine club legend would always be that.

Only if the striker we bring in is the same value as what we sold Kane for. The 2x centre backs should have been brought in regardless of what happens with Kane.

Spending £70m on 2x centre backs and £30m on a striker isn’t enough. It needs to be £70m on 2x centre backs and £100m on a new striker/attacking replacement.
What if that money doesn’t exist?

It would be pure negligence to refuse £100m for a 30-year-old striker in the last year of his contract.

Considering he has no interest to renew either.
Every time I see this word now, I'm just waiting for stoof to swoop in and set everyone straight on what negligence really means. Us plebs have no idea, you know.

I will be as gutted as anyone when he goes, but getting a good fee and having him go abroad and not play for one of our rivals was our priority as soon as we knew he wasn't going to sign a new deal. We need to make the best of this situation now and invest wisely. I don't trust Levy to do it, but the one thing we have in our favour is that he knows he needs to spend in order to save face, keep the brand strong and help us stay competitive enough to get back into CL where the real revenue is at.

Go get Tapsoba, Doku and Vlahovic. I'm also one of the minority that rates Felix extremely highly- there's a deal to be done there imo. Give me the optimistic rating 👀

Take Bayern's offer and move on. He clearly doesn't want to be here anymore and really hasn't since last time he agitated for a move. Get him out and move forward with players that want to play for us.

If Bayern are offering an 85m base fee we should just get it done.

Seems if reports are to be believed Levy is meeting Bayern tomorrow.

Last offer (again if reports believed) doesn’t seem like a million miles away so if they’re meeting there must be a willingness on both sides to find a solution. If we weren’t willing we wouldn’t meet them simple as that.

Feels like the beginning of the end and I think it’s likely they’ll come to an agreement. However I think it’ll be kept fairly quiet to not negatively impact our other dealings with clubs thinking we’re flush.

As many have said if he is to leave then Bayern seems like the most palatable location and with 1 year left we’ll get close to £100m which for a player that cost us zero is not shabby at all. Also if it is going to happen then I hope it happens in time for him to get a send off at the Shaktar game. He deserves it.

Might be just trying to cope in my own brain but I do think with Ange’s system goals will come from more places and he’s not a natural fit for a lot of the role requirements.
For 100% sure you will get nothing, and for sure they won't spend it wisely. Just like they did with the Bale money. 😝

I think people thinking selling Kane pays for 3-5 very good players are in for a shock.

I think the money Kane brings in either buys you one Muani type player. Or two CB’s like VDV and Tapsoba. You aren’t getting all of those though.

I’m not saying those players are likely, but I don’t think you get anywhere near getting two CB’s and a striker of the required quality for the money Kane would bring in.

We can't be, that's why I said "in an attempt to appease". The only way fans will accept it, is if we sign a couple of top CBs and a new striker and come the end of the season we are in the top 4.
But they won't! That's the truth.

Yep, if you really do go after one of the top young forwards, you won’t have much change left…especially when people know you have the cash.

Sad to see but this has been on the cards since he pushed for a move to City. We can't compete for the top prizes and for me that is the key. Competing is the minimum Kane would be expecting and we fail miserably in that department and it'll never change under Levy and his cronies.

Too many have had their heads buried in the sand when it comes to the Kane situation. Said it in January that we should enjoy it while it lasts. He is world class and should be able to look around the changing room and feel confident he is surrounded by players that are taking the team somewhere.
Instead, he has had to carry crap like Dier, Davies, Sanchez etc, players who continually let you down and will never let you achieve anything meaningful.
