Winning the deal is far more important than winning football matches.
Which matches are we losing as a result of this?
Winning the deal is far more important than winning football matches.
Good one.Which matches are we losing as a result of this?
Completely spot on unfortunately, its always money and business first and the sporting effect of the tradeoff of saving or gaining an extra few £mil vs the extra time that takes and the impact that has on squad preparation and finalising required targets is rarely a good tradeoff so yet again a new manager and his start to the season will be sabotaged.Levys going to squeeze Bayern for every penny and he’ll probably get us a good deal.
Whilst he’s worrying about that though, our main targets will either commit to their clubs or go elsewhere and our season will once again begin under a cloud of uncertainty, with the same defence we suffered through last season.
As always, the finances of this will come first, and I wouldn’t be surprised if it takes all summer.
I know it’s talksport but they are saying meeting on Monday now
Probably just trying to give us a few more days to tie up 3 new signings before clubs know we’re rich
I actually think it'll feel good once he's gone in a way, like a cloud has been lifted, no more uncertainty, a whole new group of players and new manager all pulling in the same direction and no overreliance on one player.I just want this saga to end. Feels like it’s been ongoing since the City stuff two years ago.
He seemed to say this an hour after Jim White reported it and it’s now looking like it’s not even true given that the Germans reportedly got a different flight and are now in London.O keefe saying meeting rescheduled for early next week
If he is signing players in the meantime then fair enough but everything points to it being on hold in the meantime.I really, really don't think that Levy can be pre-criticised for wanting or needing to "win" this deal. We absolutely have to pull their pants down on it, or it doesn't happen. We and he cannot afford to be seen selling the club's single biggest asset of all time for anything less than is a good deal for the club, and I think any moaning about this in advance must actually understand that.
Careful, there's a cult behind himHe seemed to say this an hour after Jim White reported it and it’s now looking like it’s not even true given that the Germans reportedly got a different flight and are now in London.
What the actual hell are you talking about? You realise that those numbers are completely made up don’t you? Dembele played 171 (plus 2 for Fulham) league games out of a possible 228 in the 6 years before his final Kane had played 198 in the last 6 years, and has missed 3 games through injury since the Covid break. Other than that, good pointBefore his final injury hit season, he’d missed only 25 games in his Tottenham career. And only 16 in his time at Fulham.
In the last 6 years, HK has missed 56 games.
Hopefully Bayern are serious then and it doesn't drag out. They will understand the magnitude of what they are asking us to do, so I just hope that somewhere in amongst their arrogance is an actual will to get the deal done if they want it so badly. If he is signing players in the meantime then fair enough but everything points to it being on hold in the meantime.
