He wasn't god awful before them though. Massively highly regarded. Just seemed like too big a jump too soon and they expected too much from him. I mean purely from a perspective of a back up to develop behind other players, obviously.

Without doubt we’ll lose some football intelligence but maybe we can actually have a team that function as a team rather than relying on individual brilliance to create any sort of opportunities. Hopefully the absolutely turgid football of the last 4 years where we desperately had to rely on Kane is behind us. Kane was having to do an absurd amount of work for a striker which under Ange simply won’t be necessary for Richarlison.

It's also important to remember that we have dropped a centre back for a scoring midfielder. We haven't had a double digits midfielder for a couple of years and our centre backs didn't score much either. So that's going to make a difference having more goals from midfield with Maddison and Lo Celso rather than 3 centre backs and 2 central midfielders with few goals. Although Hojbjerg did ok with goals to be fair but it's still far off the sort of number you get from a more attacking midfielder. That's essentially why Kane has to play the attacking midfielder role as well. He's just so good it's like having 20 goals from a striker and 10 from an attacking midfielder rounded into 1 player. That's where the switch from 3 central defenders will make all the difference. We no longer need a 2 in 1 forward because we're back to the number 10 in midfield.

Assuming we will lose Harry, it will be massively painful from a morale perspective especially for the fans. It isn't a certainty that it will be from a performance perspective because of what Richy brings to the table. He was profligate in his misses against West Ham but he is a down in the dirt, scrappy, fight for every loose ball kind of guy. Agne's style of play is not precision. It's a blunt instrument. Richy is a blunt instrument.

Extrapolating performance based on a preseason game is haphazard at best, but our issue will not be goals.
We had 32 shots against West Ham.
We had zero games last year over 30 shots.
We had four games out of 50 with more than 20 shots.

Our issue will be the goals we give up especially if we don't upgrade at CB as well as how do we get goals against the top teams. I suspect Harry's precision will be missed against the top 4 especially in the away games. but for the majority of the season, our offense will do well.

If its a youngish forward with great potential, then for me its Lucas Beltran. Not similar in style, very effective for RiverPlate in SouthAmerica.Beltran profiles like Alvarez , Lautaro kind of player. Not a out & out no9.

it seems we were already pushing for Tabsoba/VDV and a younger option.

So with Kane money we’ll now get both CBs and a young striker for say £30m?

The upgrade from young cb option to the second of tabsoba/VDV is only going to be about £20m difference max.

So where is the other £50m from Kane going???!!!

I've mentioned him a few times on here as a very good option for a back up/prospect. Fiorentina have been heavily linked over the last week tho so would have to act swiftly.
