He's not the brightest - hence not very good at anticipating - and also largely immobile meaning he can't recover when he fails to anticipate.

Apart from that, a top notch CB.

Yanited will be pinching themselves that someone wants to pay them cash money for him if these rumours are true.

Well suited to a back three not trying to play a high line, would have been great fit in the Conte world. If Ange plays a back 4 and/or a high line then this would be a mistake. Can’t see us paying good money for an unsuited, out of form, wrong side of 30, CB on big wages.

I'd take him if we were going to play a 3.

Not a 2 though.

Terrible partner for Romero.

Look he’s slow and is mistake prone, but you have to remember we currently have nobody who can play LCB in a 2 at a competent level in our squad. If he’s very cheap, and it’s alongside a young star as mentor and positive presence around the squad, then I don’t hate it.

In saying all that though, just feels like agent talk. Makes no sense with Ange’s high line.

As has been said, it makes no sense, but why has there been no denial from our trusted ITK‘s (or even our untrusted ones)?

Really not sure how I feel about this. It feels like a spurs signing. If it’s him and another ‘top’ centre half then yes but if he’s the big money buy then not so sure

I can only hope that if we want to get an HG CB/LCB we'd be looking at Kilman before we sink to this

Signing Maguire won't change this

He’s Daniel COYS wet dream, a big name player that he thinks will make money through merch sales, and appease us “fickle fans”. Reality is he he’s like the super tanker that got stuck in the Suez Canal, and needs to be towed as far away from our club as super humanly possible. #washed up

Don't agree. Merch sales will come from players from other countries. Mido helped us get an Egypt fan base. Our South Korean fan base is clear for all to see.

Who'd support us because we've got Maguire? No one.

I think he's better than the memes make us think, but I'm very much against catching a falling knife. Plus he's not great in a high line. He could've worked in Conte's system, doubt he could do the job in Ange's.

Maybe under Conte, with the deep block. That's the kind of system he excelled in for Leicester. Under Ange and his intense press/high line, it would surely be a massive disaster.

He has pretty clear strengths and weaknesses. If we were playing a formation that accentuates his strengths and we can cover his weaknesses then he could be a good signing.

I just don't have faith that we'd be buying him with any tactical plan.

Funny how quickly things change, 5 years ago everyone had a lob-on over him and he was a national treasure having performed very well at WC 2018.

I really don’t think he’s anywhere near as bad as his MU form, I just think all the memes and the court case in Greece affected him (and probably still do)!

It’s really no surprise the moment he steps away from MU and plays for England his confidence and consistency returns to a much better level.

Depending on the fee, I don’t think it would be the worst business we could do.

Fucking lol. I know it’s the done thing to bitch out Levy for anything and everything on here, but this is legitimately hilarious.

Get real.
