What a beautiful strike that was
It's true that he was treated badly and he was, fairly or unfairly I don't know, singled out as a bit of a troublemaker during the Mourinho days. But he was done with us. The injuries, the chops and changes, the bad vibes, he had to get away from us as much as we needed him to leave.Superb strike from a great little player.
Another player treated badly by the not inconsiderable minority of our fans who are utterly ****y at times....
He's a lovely little player, just needed to leave usHe was never as bad as people made him out to be.
Aged wellFrom an LCFC forum. High praise.

I sometimes get Paul Scholes vibes about Winks. So tidy in possession and he's the heartbeat of the team.
I know he's not as forward thinking as Scholes and doesn't score worldies, but technically he's right up there.
Maybe, sometimes getting out of their comfort zone is really good for players. I do wonder whether he should have had his ankle surgery a long time ago and if that was a big part of why his form with us suffered. He'd got too comfy with us, imo, and needed a change of scenery to rediscover himself again.
Injuries didn't help but he had seemed to stall, if not maybe stagnate.
Glad to see him doing well and that was a cracking goal.
And here come the inevitable “he’s found his level” posts…Scored the winner on Saturday. He's doing absolute bits this season
I think he will do well again next season in the EPL when Leicester are upAnd here come the inevitable “he’s found his level” posts…
