Has Keane got a clause in his contract so he can't be subbed?

Damn that boy's been a waste of a shirt recently. I appreciate the lift he gave the team when he first came back but let's be honest he's been abysmal since Villa away which was what two months ago?

Now Defoe's back and looking much sharper than Keane I want to see him and Pav given a go for the last two games. i think they'd compliment each other quite well.

I am a Redknapp convert but his biggest mistake (maybe his only mistake) was making Keane captain. Now it seems we are stuck with the slow, wasteful, ball hogging, arm waving, back-stabber for good whether he pulls his weight in the team or not.

I guess it was a long winded way of saying why isn't Keane being dropped or at least subbed when he's turning in one abject performance after another?

As Bentley found, 'arry does give players a chance. I have to agree that Pav and Defoe should start the next game but I doubt it will happen. His favoured pairing appear to be JD and Keano and I was disappointed that nothing was done regarding their ineffectual combination today until less than 10 minutes were left. But that's 'arry's call...

Modric your just bitter because you got subbed today instead of Keane

I agree though, he hasn't been to good recently.

lets face it, he was a panic buy without any thought to the implications when Defoe got fit and they appear to have both been promised starting roles.

I would be surprised if Harry subbed him when Ledley is not on the pitch, but surely the captains armband can be passed over in when he is....

The game today cried out for some subs in second half, we were very lucky to get away with a point at Everton. Hutton should have gone off, and probably also Keane to bring some fresher legs on.

He has'nt got Berba next to him anymore to make him look good. He's gone back to the Keane we loved to hate of 2002/3/4/5/6. We should have never bought him back in the first place. Still gutted that we never managed to upgrade him last summer to Arshavin like Ramos so desperately wanted to!

no - but he shouldn't be captain - and he should be dropped

I want to see Pav and Defoe start next week

RK is in one of his 'miss' patches that can stretch for games

he's got to be one of the most inconsistent spurs players over the ppast three/four years

I also repeat as I said the other day - I think he's lost a bit of pace

he just can't do the magic anymore - and a faster forward like Bent could well have scored today - JJ who was tremendous had the quality to unlock everton - he didn't have the strikers to turn the key

oh and once again the keane defoe combo didn't work - quelle surprise - not!

We need to look beyond Keane I'm afraid. He musnt hold us back in terms of bringing in players. If he is the base for our forwards then we will continue to look as lack lustre up
front as we do now.
Have no idea why we resigned him.

It looks as though Harry is giving Keane time to play himself into form, as I've said before don't judge Keane until next season, failure to do well at Liverpool has knocked his confidence, but he'll be back.

Crap excuse! I would say that if he was still playing for Liverpool, but he has returned to us with a clean slate, given captaincy (the fact that he has been made captain should negate any lack of confidence) but still has not delivered. Robbie Keane minus Berbatov is a has been, end off.

I am mostly in agreement with your post but have highlighted the above because I don't particularly think any striker combo would have flourished today given the enforced personnel and formation change.

Not saying I think they are a fruitful partnership in the making but factors weren't on their side today.

fair enough alamo - I can see your point

I would say that had Bent been available today we probably would have done better

I freely admit that I'm liable to be biased in that I haven't rated the 'little combo' for years and think in fact playing two small players up front in the Prem doesn't work

I can't think of any of the top ten prem sides that do it

and please don't say utd cos i'll cry :)

tevez and rooney are bigger and more powerful than jd & rk and they also have 6ft ronaldo who's good in the air

plus berbs plays much of the time too

for me today confirmed again we need a striker in the summer who's good in the air - and that will probably mean a big striker

someone's who's also fast/can play as a target man would be ideal :)
