AVB and Sherwood were only 5 or 6 years ago. The 90s were 20 years ago. Spurs have only that recently, under Poch, dined at the top table on a regular basis. Even during our glory years we were very hit and miss when it came to consistency. I think people are asking for a bit of time for Poch because this is our first dip and before we launch ourselves into another period of uncertainty are we really sure that someone who has at last provided consistency of sorts can’t turn it around?
How much time do you give him though? We've not just been poor since January, we've been poor since the start of last season. We were just fortunate for the first 2/3 of last season that we were just about grinding out one goal wins in enough games to keep most people from being too critical of the overall performances.

I think there were maybe half a dozen games last season where we looked like a good team that knew how they were supposed to play.

Contast that to the seasons before where it was clear as day how we were going to play with the ball and how we were going to defend without the ball. We were quick, hard working, aggressive and structured. We've lost all of that now, and now we just look like we haven't been coached at all and the game plan is basically "go out and try and win, I guess."

What happened to the aggressive pressing that made us so feared? What happened to the discipline that made us one of the best defensive teams in the world? What happened to the creativity and movement that had us leading the charts in chances created, shots on target and goals scored?

I love Poch and want him to succeed as much as anyone, but when the whole team has regressed from front to back and there are no signs of improvement, despite there being a summer break for him to reset the whole mentality, how long do you have to wait before deciding that this isn't just a dip?

We look a million miles away from the team he formed in 2016-2018. It doesn't look like he knows how to fix it. And, more damningly, it doesn't really look like he cares about it either.

I’d give him the next year, that’s two transfer windows to bring in players. He either succeeds, which is great, fails despite getting the players he wants, not great, or fails after not getting the players, which just shows things aren’t working with Levy. I don’t know why this would seem unreasonable as we have so many contract problems and new players to integrate at the moment. Clearly others think differently but that’s not my concern. Unless they’re stupid enough to ring Talksport which just fuels more shite.

Very fair and balanced post.

And its accurate. People have to start accepting what's been happening fit several months now.

This is not a blip with people being impatient.

It's a seasons worth of sub standard results and performances.

He's just not learning. Arrogance and stubbornness is all I see at the moment.

I'd give him til Christmas. I'd be quizzing him on his plans for January and quizzing Harry Kane about his thoughts first. If I thought half the 1st team would react to his sacking by 'Playing like Eriksen' then I might hold off as we would really be in the deep doo-doo then.

But right now I want to give him more time. I don't know why we dont play the same way as Pool with Dier,TND and Sissoko as our middle 3 and Son,Kane and Lucas as our front 3. That would be a great lineup. Our full backs arent great but dropping Rose is essential.

But theres a lot more to think about than just a reaction sacking after some bad results. Levy is more astute than that. We know 5% of the goings on inside the club, maybe 10%. Lets not pretend its clear cut. Knowing ManU they could be offering us 30 mill for Poch by Christmas, and knowing our fickle fans they'll all be screaming for Levy to reject it by then. It all changes very quickly.

Are you trolling? You honestly think we're struggling due to the quality of the squad? You're actually mental, literally no point arguing with you, anyway if you think people are reacting because of this result:

Carrying on burying your head in the sand though.
What I can't work out is why they only started last season towards the end of February. In my day, there were warm-up matches in what was called 'pre-season'. And then competitive football really got going in August. Looking at the list of results above, I can't work out how Spurs achieved fourth in the Premier League by May. They may even have been in fourth place or whatever well before May.

This doesn’t seem to be about integrating RS, GLC or TN anymore so we already have a Pochettino thread.
