Berba is a sublime footballer. It is painful watching him in a white manure shirt.

I find I don't have similar pangs of pain watching Keano running around flapping his arms (copyright Bus-Conductor) in a red scouse shirt.

In fact, watching that f*ckt*rd Jamie Redknapp talk absolute shite at half-time is way more irritating...

I think Berbatov must want a move already. His body language was identical to how he played for us for two years and he barely smiled once.

In seriousness though, I think Ferguson will be making a massive mistake if he tries to include Berba, Rooney, Tevez and Ronaldo in the same team. The three up front is all well and good if your midfield isn't being overrun by the opposition's 5.

Would be interesting to see Berba and Rooney as a front two. Could be an upgraded version of the Heskey-Rooney partnership we saw for England.

Assuming Pav fits in well, and our midfield 5 gel quickly i think we'll be a tough proposition. i don't see much more in the Liverpool team that started today (clearly Gerard and Torres push them ahead slightly when fit)

Berbatov was wank second half.

Mascherano should get MOTM, he was brilliant.

Agree Mascherano and Alonso were outstanding today. Liverpool are average in so many areas, but in central midfield they have real quality and that (plus a lot of luck) won it for them today.

Riera was also very impressive today, made Brown look like a right mug on more than one occasion. Strange that both his debut's for City and Liverpool have resulted in wins against United.

Mascherano played well, but the manure goal was definitely his fault. He completely switched off, and let his Argentine teammate, Tevez, walk into the penalty area unmarked and score. If our DM fell asleep like that, he'd be getting slaughtered by the fans...

I laughed how many times Keane bottled attacking stances, getting in the way of his own teammates, missing an absolute sitter (again) and struggling to keep his feet firm on the ground

Berbatov made a key contribution early in the match by assisting Tevez for the goal and then absolutely faded like in his worst times at Spurs. VDS was shit and made a total howler for Liverpool's first. The 2nd Liverpool goal was calamity at it's best, with Giggs making a dumb mistake that allowed Kuyt cross low for Babel's brutally horrible shot that ended on the net by pure luck from a fantastic position.

Halfway through September, 3 points behind United with a game in hand… Think we'd all have taken that pre-season, wouldn't we?

Keano seems to have legs like Bamby. He must be so nervous, everytime he gets even a semi chance his legs goes to Jelly and he falls over! Poor lad.

Fair result in the end, with neither of our lads really playing well. Berba played a ball without looking, and it turned into a brilliant pass because of Tevez's run.
