I watch them mate - did you see the everton game? the chance Kane missed vs stoke at 2-0 in the first half which would have put us out of reach? the Mason chance in the same half?

We have created plenty of chances. Maybe not enough vs Man U but in the other games early on in the season our play may not have been as fluid but we certainly created enough chances.

I watch them all and don't ever look at stats EVER.

Stats can be used to make anyone look good or bad. In the games where we had a lot of shots how man required decent defending or goal keeping to stop them going in?

Having five weak shots straight at a keeper doesn't make me think we deserved to score.

I'll admit there are a few aspects of the everton game that slipped my mind.
I agreed it was a decent performance to be fair. I just remember watching it thinking we could have played all day and not scored.

It's good to see someone on here has got the balls to admit they were wrong about Poch. Myself and a few others seem to be constantly fighting his corner right up to the beginning of the this season against the impatient, knee-jerking types. Most of whom have gone very quiet recently...

Blue Peter badge on it's way............

He isn't going to be offered the RM job.
There do you feel better now?
and for God sake stop using that awful adjective Spursy its meaningless and pathetic.
So what are we supposed to call the awful off the pitch luck and the classic bottle job on the pitch then if we cant call it spursy now? Come on. Much simpler to just say spursy...

Fair play - i mean - the point is that its not about the weak shot - its the position the players were in to even miss those chances in the first place.

We could have had 4 in the first half vs stoke too!

I'm gonna stay here sat on this fence until the end of the season.

I'm sure we have a record of going on decent runs in September to December.

A lot of the comments on here could have been posted after we beat QPR 4-0 on match day 2 last season only to then fail to impress for a long time.

For me to truly fall in love with poch he has to show he can identify when his plan A isn't working and do something about it.
Like for like subs isn't what I'm looking for.

Good, balanced post.

I watched Fergie's documentary last night and his interview with Rebecca Lowe. Fergie was clear that he wanted young talent from within the club (home grown), a system to maximize their potential managed with discipline and desire.

I can see a lot of that in our current squad, and a Coach who i think has a darker side (re Townsend and Ade) with the team first and foremost in his mind.

Most of us who can just about remember seeing Greaves play and i am one of them, have seen more false dawns at Spurs than New Years Eve's since then, so without sounding patronising, appearing to be anti this or anti that or negative do feel that though the turnaround in the Clubs fortunes are clear to see i and many others have witnessed the same under Redknapp and before.

I want to keep my feet on the ground until seasons end, before making any decision based on this unbeaten run that is a club equaling record. Only then can the progress of the Club be truly measured and compared. To do so before the halfway point of the season is pointless in my opinion despite the early progress being shown.

I was at the stoke game.
We were the better side 1st half but the goals seemed to come from nowhere (I'll take that! )
But in the 2nd half we were a shambles. I was very worried for our season after that and didn't enjoy my 2 hour commute home

I didn't realise you were of an age to have watched the Nicholson/Greaves era.

I have held a season ticket for over thirty years. Will never let it go.

My Uncle took me as a five year old to my first Spurs game against Man Ure. Greaves carved them fuckers open like a knife through butter. People wax lyrical about Messi and Ronaldo, and even Rooney and Suarez. Greaves goal for goal was far, far better.

Am i biased and off topic, well yes a little. A shit i do not care.

You don't win points by having a lot of the ball in the middle of the pitch and having 5 shots from 35 yards (unless Bale is shooting)

If we don't score enough we face losing games like united and anderlecht on freak goals conceded.

I watch them all and don't ever look at stats EVER...

We're joint third in goals scored - 3 behind Man City and 4 behind Leicester. Nevermind also being joint second in goals allowed - only 2 behind Man United.

Do you look at those stats?

Until the city game we'd scored what, 6 in 6? We were one of the lowest scoring teams with one of the lowest goal differences in the top half iirc.

That's basically half of the season so far.
It's November. If you haven't noticed, we've been here before a lot of times in the last 10 years.

He knows what he's doing and we play football in the best kind of style to watch imo. Starting to remind me of Klopp's Dortmund team (which should be interesting now that Klopp is in the Premier League too). But pressing aggressively and playing with quick transitions is great to watch when it's done right. Plus he brings youth into the team.

Another thing that is noteworthy imo is our record in the big games since he arrived. Under AVB and Tim we were regularly getting beat 5-0 or 5-1 or something like that. He's had a couple heavy defeats since he arrived, but I think we've actually dished more out to the big teams than we've taken.

Maybe in league position, but you could also tell that teams in the past didn't have the mentality to compete. Under Harry we had good players but I only remember a few games where we didn't crumble against big teams. This team feels different and also has a manager who has implemented a style that works. Unlike back then, I think this team is more than the sum of its parts rather than less.

I'm not denying that at this point in time we look very good.
But I won't get excited until we looked good all season.

We've all given it the bigguns to gooners about minding the gap etc.
I even lost £40 to a spammer once after we threw away a 14 point lead.

This is familiar territory for us and I'll only get excited once we get past that territory and succeed at the end of the season.

I'm excited because even if we don't succeed this season, there is next season and the season after, and I'm excited about the direction we're taking now. Scouting and signing good players, playing with a discernible identity, new stadium (hopefully) coming. May as well get excited about our team's success.

My concern now, is when we lose (and we will lose), how the fans remain patient through that spell.

I'm only really concerned about what happens when we lose to a team we should beat, because that's when fans really lose their shit....but it happens to every club, every season, at least once.

If we lost to West Brom like Arsenal did, before there would be an utter meltdown. It will be interesting to see what happens when it does eventually happen.
