It would be nice to know if the Club is seeking to bring more players in.

What if there is no intention to sign anymore players ie that Poch etc are content we have the players, what would your team and squad be ?

Please no posts that say we will bring in more players.

This thread is about assuming we are happy to run with what we have.

If the squad remained as it is right now I suspect we'd really struggle later on in the season. Could see us finishing 8th or lower, and people beginning to call for Pochettino's head.

Our squad depth up front and in midfield is shockingly poor.

We the fans may not be happy to run with what we have, but if we don't sign anyone else then it would appear to me that Levy certainly IS happy to run with what we have and is quite happy not to get Champions League. Has anyone actually considered the possibility that Levy has given up on CL? For all we know, ENIC could be planning on selling the club.

Kane
Chadli Eriksen Lamela
Bentaleb Mason
Rose Verts Toby Trippier
Lloris
Pretty much the same as the team that played the majority of games last season with the addition of some defensive reinforcements.

The depth of the squad may be an issue.

???
Prichard Onmuha Townsend
Alli Dembele
Davies Wimmer Fazio Walker
Vorm

What would my team be if we didn't sign anybody else? Ummm, exactly the same as last season with the addition of Alderweireld at CB and Tripper at RB... We'd finish 6th-10th. Not really much else to say.

Do we really think that there will be no new additions?
I'm sure that Poch has identified that the squad is improved by including the younger players he has taken on the tours but there will be key positions he has specific targets for as well. Unfortunately the level of spending available (and desired) is not that of Liverpool/Utd level so we have to look at younger, unproven players with potential and not chance our arm with £30m signings again.
I expect 2 first team players to be brought in before the close of the window

I think he has given up on the CL until the stadium is built but he won't be selling, he said he wanted to make us one of the best clubs in Europe.

Why does everyone think we would so much worse than last season? Even with two or 3 players that will probably improve our first team. We had a bad start to the season last year. It was only November when the big bust up occured that Poch used the kids and we started flying. Because of the bust up we had a few players that weren't used at all or very sparringly. This meant that our kids got very tired and we had a poor run in. Walker was also coming back from injury and we had to rely on cb's to play at rb.

All those kids now have an extra years experience. They have been added to with Toby, Tripier, Wimmer (we had no back up for Verts), Alli, Pritchard and Carroll. Alli will be first choice soon, Tripier will push Walker and Pritchard will keep both Chadli and Eriksen on their toes.

Also if the squad stays the same we have Ade and Soldado as back up to Kane. Not perfect but both good players that just need to sort their heads out.

We would be much stronger than last year yet some of you think we will drop to 8th or even 10th? Drama queens.

I know eriksen was poor against the mls team but he was good in the other friendlies. Can't see him being dropped.

I think we've done a really good job strengthening the defensive positions and also chopping out a lot of deadwood to make room for new additions.

I think our swuad is looking strong now although we could do with a defensive midfielder and winger / forward.

But we do also have some cracking talent in our youth set up and they could possibly come in and make step up.

Winks could do a job alongside Bentaleb, Pritchard is back with us and Oduwa is also an option.
