I'm worried about Krankjaer as he's been electric since he signed for us. Does the 'maybe' arrival of Cole signal less game time for Krankjaer? I rate Krankjaer higher.
I guess it would also mean that Bale is def not playing left wing next season too.

I really like Kranky, but for me it is always about getting upgrades on players, and in my opinion, Cole is a big upgrade on Kranky. That is not to say that Kranky will not get games, because he will get lots.

Some may say, Bale is better overlapping from LB anyway

Yeah I would say Kranky is most likely to feel the hit.

A lot depends on whether we sell Bentley as well I guess.

Kranjcar mostly played because Modric was out then Lennon was out. He was always intended as a squad player for us. We have plenty of games next season though so plenty of games for everyone.

Obviously Kranjcar will play less. He would be a useful impact sub as he pops up with goals at important times. Describing him as electric is going a bit far though.

Joe Cole plays less as he'd be injured again for frigging ages!

Got this feeling Cole is going to be our new sicknote so we won't have to worry about playing time much.

I would also point out that Niko was played way out of position for long stretches when he was a right winger so I would be more than happy to not bring Cole in and really use Niko at left winger and occasionally in the center as an attacking central midfielder and have Palacios and Hudd behind him.

Right. Worrying about players is all good and well, but if Kranjcar didn't play a single game and we qualified for the Champions League again or even challenged for the title, would you still be worried? Let the players do the talking and have them worry about their positions and up their game. There's no point stressing over who will play and who won't, as it's ultimately Harry's decision.

If we win 10 games on the bounce playing reserve team players, is that still a concern?

Cole adds experience; he's been in the Champions League, he's won the title and domestic cups several times and offers even more strength in depth which is what we need with the potential of a lot more games to play.

The more world class or Premier league class players the better.

But does he add a hunger to win? I just don't see it.

Plus he wants a more central role. Central to what? He's not a CM and we don't play a diamond so we buy him and he's unhappy even if he's playing.

So he plays badly and gets dropped. Kranjcar comes in. Or whoever else is hoping for a place in that position.

Don't get me wrong, I'm dubious about the signing too. Not because Cole is a poor player, as he's certainly not. But I think he's lacking pace which is what we're crying out for. I still think he would be a fantastic coup and a great signal of intent that we're here to carry on where we left off.

I think the more important question is where will Modric play...

Also, as said above Cole says he wants a central spot, which I certainly wouldn't be giving him.

It's a pity you don't have coaching badges, as I think the Premiership is missing a manager like you.
