JD thru injury and Ade at the AFC DL must and has to buy 2 up front. Anything less DL will be held responsible for making us miss a top 4 and CL qualification. No more excuses re financing.

What happens if we do get top 4 and CL qualification? Is DL still responsible?

We only normally play 1 up front, and with Holtby coming in I can't see the sense in buying more than 1 striker.
It would mean that in a month's time we'd have 4 strikers, with only one of them playing at a time.

I would count your blessings if we got one that cost more than £5m .... personally starting to think we will get a loan or freebie if anything

So that in 3-4 weeks time we end up with 4 strikers in our 4-5-1 system? Not to mention Dempsey?

Economics fail!

Togo play their last group match tomorrow and have to beat Tunisia to go through. Ade could well be back by the weekend! :cautious:

Edit: They play on Wednesday, not tomorrow, I lost track of what day it is today, so WTF do I know!

I think its pretty clear that long term the plan is 4-5-1/4-3-3 with one central striker. Why then do you need four of them?

Actually Togo only need a draw on Wed to go through. Better GD and GF.

Trust me to believe the BBC table for the ACN, when I didn't look at it properly! They show Togo as 3rd in the table, but you're right, they have a better GD and more GF. :banghead:

The other big clubs have 4

The others have players who are seemingly more versatile though and can play in different forward positions. When we talk about striker I think of someone who just plays through the centre.

City - Aguero or Tevez can play in wider positions. Only really Dzeko and Balotelli who are purely central players.
Utd - Rooney plays everywhere, Welbeck can play wide. Again, only two, then RVP and Hernandez who are just central players.
Gooners - Walcott, Gervinho and even Podolski can play wide or centrally. Only Giroud now as a purely central striker.
