70 - E.Adebayor has now made the same number of PL apps for Spurs as D.Berbatov (70), but has scored three goals more (30 v 27). Effort.

There was a time people were coming all over Berbatov when Adebayor was at Arsenal . I said at the time they were evenly matched and was ridiculed. Taking my spurs glasses off there's not much in it but understood why I got laughed at , Ade being at Arsenal and all.

Proof that stats mean nothing. Berbatov was a different league to Adebayor

The Premier League?

Berbs will always be one of my favourites but you have to give Ade credit. He's been extremely effective for us, even with all the shit that's gone on.

Not sure I agree, the adebayor this season and the season under Harry was/is great

Disagree completely. I would have paid to watch Berbatov as he was so "Tottenham", Ade is a good striker, but no swagger like an on form Berbatov.

IMO they are 2 totally different breeds of striker. One powerful and direct, one intelligent and flamboyant. The latter is more the "Spurs Way" but you really can't knock Ade this season.

Not knocking adebayor, just that berbatov was far superior. When he was good for us he made everyone else play better too, his overall impact on the team was far larger

I think Ade is as good maybe even better than Berba in terms of his effectiveness as a striker and what he can bring to the team - Berbatov was on another level in terms of his ability from skillful and eye pleasing point of view though

I would think the change in results since Sherwood brought Adebayor back into the side probably disproves this theory somewhat.

in 2006/07 and 07/08 Berbatov got 22 assists (in 5704 mins). Adebayour in 2011/12, 12/13 and 13/14 has 18 (in 5419 mins)

Thats from the PL

Our results have not changed that much, AVB was getting ok results, bar a couple of spankings, but our performances are not that much better either. As I said, think Ade is a good player, by far the best option we have, just Berba was better
