sterling and grealish should feel embarrassed that they let saka take that penalty.

Really disappointed with Sterling tonight.
We did have very few regular pen takers out there.
Maguire a real leader, had the character to hit home.
Rashford was dreadful.
Sterling and Grealish, have missed quite a few for clubs.
Thought Henderson would have the ⚽️ to take one.
Saka should never have been on p5
Not many left after that.

Me and knowing how it feels to watch your team win the final feels like Jim in american pie when he asks what 3rd base feels like at this point.

Thanks. I thought we’d lose tonight but I’ve a feeling we’ll win the World Cup. It’s a last chance saloon for a lot of players in this group.

not a chance. You lucked out massively with the draw in this tournament let alone the last World Cup. You also had home draws all the way through and had “questionable” refereeing calls throughout. Any time you come up against a decent team with good tactics you lose.

Fuck knows why we didn't go balls deep for him. Class keeper and still so young.

Yeah it's like I was driving to the shops in my Polo earlier and got overtaken by a Ferrari. I turned to the missus and said "Do you know what, fuck knows why we didn't buy one of them."

Except it's not like that cos, unlike a car, he's also got a brain of his own and if his assistant told him we were after him, he'd have probably said "Fuck knows why they think I'd sign for them".

Can’t say anything bad about Sterling in here apparently.

He's got pundits saying how he's been player of the tournament for England, even Shearer said this before the game.

Honestly, I just don't get it. He's incredibly selfish and breaks down more attacks than he contributes to. Yes, he's dangerous in and around the box but players like Grealish and Sancho have been head and shoulders above him this season. Rashford is a frustrating one because he should by rights be taking that spot from Sterling, but he's a very inconsistent player who let's the big stage get to him.

Guardiola wouldn't entertain the Sterling we've seen this tournament. Just so greedy and wasteful. Foden's been the same. Nothing like the Foden of Man City. Just a selfish kid who wanted be the second coming of Gazza and try to have a go as a hero instead of being part of a teamand a bigger picture, like at his club.

Didn't realize but this is Italy first win at Euros since 1968. So it's coming home - just in a different direction.

Feel for Saka and he was let down by the senior players in the team not sticking their hand up, as much as Southgate has said he picked em, Sterling has been sucked off all tournament as Englands saviour, he shoulda had the stones to take one.

You cant convince me Bukayo Saka was a better option than Sterling or Grealish to take the 5th pen.

i feel mostly for Pickford after making that save, to going out due to a few shabby penalties.

Most teams would be extremely happy with a player who works very hard off the ball and scores 20 tap ins a season.

Unfortunately working hard off the ball and tap-ins don't count for anything in a penalty shoot-out.

That’s fine, got no problem with your thoughts however there is no way in a million years I would let a 19 year old who has never taken a senior penalty in his life, take a penalty over me if I had 67 caps for my country.

Also, not sure it’s hyperbole to say he was bang average tonight to be fair. I think that’s a fair assessment of his game in general.

The racism happening to the penalty takers is simply not okay.

Nope, huge spurs fan lurking here. I thought it just was the general euro thread, not one specific for the english national team (what england did to Denmark still hurst badly)

My bad, but its not spam :)
