So in other words it is unlikely we will see him play for the first team again. Good luck Vinny.

I called a move to turkey a few days ago. I hoped I wasn't right as I Wanted him to eventually come good for us

But if he does well it's a win win for us

Loan deals can be funny ones, he is still fairly young so it is wrong to write him off after a season where he played second fiddle to the leagues top goal scorer. He needs games to regain confidence in front of goal and he's not going to get ahead of Harry so a loan makes sense.

Question will be whether there is a way back for him at Spurs, history suggests that more often than not this sort of move turns permanent, if not at the loaning club but somewhere else at least.

I think we should have more than two out and out strikers at the club, I know Son can play there, but I'd still prefer we kept Janssen.

Very disappointed as I feel he wasn't given that many opportunities in the team due to Kane's form. Hopefully regular first team football in Turkey will improve his fortunes in the future. I wish him well.

If it is just a loan deal then hopefully he will start banging in the goals again for his new side. That way we could either sell him at a good price after the loan deal expires or have him back in the first team squad.....win/win for everybody concerned I think. (y)

He should have gone to Brighton on loan :( would have had a year in the prem, banged in 15 goals and earnt his was back into the squad within a year.

We didn't give him a chance really, shame because I really wanted to keep the lad. Hopefully this is the start of something good for him.. good luck Vinny.

Maybe Brighton wanted to buy not loan the player.

I believe he wanted to stay and fight for his place.

Can you imagine the scenes if we block the chavs from yet another deal? Hope of Hopes.

VJ has got to prove himself to the club, this year might be make or break for him. Turns down a PL loan, then gets sent to Turkey :ROFLMAO:

Because....................?

It's not about playing in the same position, it's about scoring goals in that position and it hasn't happened, never looked like happening and there was only one likely outcome to the drama that is Janssen after Llorente was signed.

The writing was not only on the wall, it was in ten feet high red neon lights.

Banging in for a team outside of the PL is one thing, (he was doing this at hos former club) means nothing.

He had a chance at a PL club where he could prove himself at this level, but took the easier option. I view the Turkish league as inferior to the Dutch league, so i still see this loan as a step backwards for him.

I guess it depends if the Turkish league is tougher than the Dutch league, if the premier league was a step too far too soon then it could still be a step in the right direction for him. So he could then come back more ready to take the extra step up to play for us in the premier league.

Time will tell, and he obviously wasn't ready just yet to understudy Kane, but the Llorente signing takes that pressure off.

I just cannot understand this. We already know he can score in a lower quality league so we learn nothing from it. The only benefit is that they pay some of his wages. He needed an extended run in a Premier League team to allow us to make a decision on him. Letting the Brighton move fall through was a total cock up and this just exacerbates it. At least if he stayed we could have maybe given him at least some game time against stronger opposition.

One advantage is that if he really starts banging them in for this club they will be more than willing to pay a reasonable price for him when the loan term finishes....so we don't lose too much.

Because.............An injury to either Kane or Llorente leaves us with only one available striker at the club and if that injury occurred during a busy period, the remaining striker would have no rest or pressure from another striker (form wise).

You are right that Janssen has not scored much for us, but he scores consistently for Holland and we are involved in European competition.

Have to say I'm not really in favour of this deal. Whereas CCV and Onomah May come back better players this looks like the exit door. If we had to loan him at least at Brighton he'd have got used to English football. Best of luck Vinny, I'll continue to root for you.

We had an injury to Kane last season and we didn't skip a beat. We had two attacking midfielders score twenty plus last season.

I don't understand what comparison you are trying to make with reference to Janssen and the Dutch side, it's his goal scoring record for Spurs thats been a disaster. I don't really care if he's scoring for fun for a National side.

I have to say I'm surprised and a little disappointed with this one. He is a good player, physically suited to the league and technically more than able. It seemed that he was lacking in confidence - at least it reflected in his body language.

He was never given a real run of games - came on when we needed an additional attacking threat but not as a focal point of attacking. Reflected in the stats below. Look at the number of sub appearances versus starts.

Seemed like a popular lad as well - how everyone rushed over to congratulate when he opened his scoring in open play. I personally hopes he smashes his way back to our starting lineup. The Turkish league always seemed to me the avenue for older players to encash their experience - not a young player proving his European worth. I hope we haven't damaged his career.
