I think both players and manager are shit.

Don't think many managers can do anything with this most of this shower of dross.

The worrying thing is who do we get to replace him?

Thats the problem. No obvious candidates out there at all.

Cant go Allegri as he is defensive. You need someone who plays attacking football. Cant see Rodgers fancying it and while I like Hasenhuttl, he hasnt done enough yet.

Nagelsmann isnt stupid, he wont take it.

I agree with you. Rodgers would squeeze more out of this team. But to say it's 'all tactics'. Please don't underestimate how bad some of our players are.

Kane, Son, Tanguy, Hojbjerg, Reguilon, Bergwijn, , Rodon and Lloris. That's it. The rest of our squad are so limited.
Add Toby and Dele to that, they are good players.

That's 10 quality players, that's more than most have. No excuses can be given for this shit we are seeing.

I’m on Tim Sherwood/ David Pleat mode now. I’ll watch out of duty, enjoy anything good we do, be pleased if he turns it around but generally not get too emotionally involved until most likely it ends in tears and someone new comes in with the promise of change and excitement.

I think both need culling. We have some extraordinarily bad footballers at this club. Hart, Davies, Sanchez, Doherty, Aurier, Winks, Sissoko, Lucas and Bale are nowhere near the required level. I’ve probably forgotten some too.

Harsh on Davies but the squad isn't the problem, the problem is that we also have quality players but they get ghosted or sat on the bench in place of the players you mentioned.

"We didn't start well. They could have scored immediately when they hit the post.

In the first half I felt the team was probably too sad with the goal conceded and the situation. There was a lack of energy. In the last 25, 30 minutes they gave everything but of course with some limitations. We couldn't score but at the same time gave them the chance to counter-attack.

The boys showed great spirit in the second half and the boys showed they are suffering and they tried to fight against that sadness.

They tried, so I have nothing negative to say about them. I leave the game with a good feeling about my boys because they tried hard in the second half.

We tried everything but they defended everything, brought on another centre-back, and it was not possible for us to score."

Hngh.

Basically implying that's all we can do without Kane

I said after the Liverpool game that my faith was going, think it has almost gone completely now. I have never been anti-Jose, but to not have the players respond in this game after the last is very concerning.

We looked clueless, there was zero cohesion in the team. I am not blaming Jose for omitting players from his squad that is his call, but he has to deal with the repercussions.

Both the players and manager seem burnt out, no desire or passion. Really worrying.

It’s not harsh on Davies. He’s a shambolic footballer. He was at fault for the goal and was nearly at fault for the chance Toby blocked on the line. He has no pace, gets caught out of position constantly, is never an attacking threat and gets beaten by his man 9 times out of 10.

Disagree.

Dele hasn't been good for over a year besides a purple patch where Mourinho made him the focus when Mourinho first came in. He dropped off, got injured and it's been average ever since.

He is one of the few who isn't but the rest are gutless or not good enough.

Lamela, Aldeweireld, PEH, Kane, Lloris are not fucking gutless. Davies isn't either, he's just not the type who's rampaging up and down the wing all day. Dier isn't gutless. Alli isn't gutless. Rodon is incredibly young and inexperienced.

I think calling the players gutless is lazy appraisal of the problem.

Toby's been a class servant but on the downhill. But yeah possibly.

Dele I personally don't think will ever be anything close to what he was, but that's just my take.

Honestly sounds like he's lost the dressing room. Not even blaming them anymore.

I don't know what a lot of you expected? This was always, in my opinion, going to be a hard season in terms of the squad, understanding tactics in a background of covid and ropey finances.

It's clear, to me anyway that half the personnel don't have what he is looking for. In terms of mentality. IF, rumours are correct and serge did leave the ground. Then that kind of makes the point.

I know he brought in 9? Players, but most of those were gap fillers to pad out a threadbare squad and a few were levy-esque bargain basement specials. It's just fortunate PEH / reguillon have been decent. Otherwise God help us.

It takes time to catch up on a backlog of dreadful player recruitment and clearly, for JM to implement what he wants. Mentality just isn't there with half the players.

He has said himself, he is here for 'the project' in a longer term role than previously. I dont think he is going anywhere soon.

I dont like the football I'm watching for 'entertainment', but as discussed, a lot of the players on the pitch look really quite awful. Is that his fault?

I think, we will see a rehash of tactics soon. I would hope. He's a keeper for me, until the end of the season when things can be looked at in more depths post covid etc etc.

I think most of us expected: not to get battered by Brighton and luckily only concede one, not to blow a 3-0 lead in 10 minutes to West Ham, not to play 5 at the back against dogshit teams, not to then sit back and hope to nick a goal out of nothing, not to (~5 times) have a 1-0 lead slip towards the end of the game after sitting back like utter cucks, not to lose to Antwerp, not to have a load of players alienated, not to watch Sissoko at right back with the useless guy he wanted for 15m sat on the bench, not to have signed one of the worst goalkeepers on the planet, not to play worse football than Burnley or Stoke ever did whilst having two of the best forwards in world football at our disposal.

Just a few things from the top of my head.

Levy didn't fuck about with Grealish. I was close to that deal and have posted numerous times what happened.
Fair enough, I just don't know what to make of this club anymore.
I felt like this in the at the end under Poch so its hard to lay the blame at Mourinhos door.
