Dier and Sissoko is utter garbage as a CM. The thing is, Winks and Skipp are a joke alternative too.

Play Dier and Sissoko = invite pressure.
Play Aurier = give away the odd goal every now and then.
Ask Eriksen to take corners = not passed the first man 9 out of 10 times.

I wouldn’t say that. It depends on the nature of the failure. If we’re in really good form at the end of the season and just lose out to an in-form Chelsea then it wouldn’t make sense to sack him. Particularly if we also have good cup runs.

If Levy thought he could turn us into one of the world’s biggest clubs without spending money on players then he’s deluded. Hopefully that isn’t the case.

He was supposed to give us the edge in the big games. He didn’t against United and he didn’t against Lampard today. It’s not as if there’s some magic Mourinho effect that’s gonna take us from cup semi finals to winning them.

For that to happen he’s going to have to get more out of our current players. That may take time and he deserves that. But it’s not clear to me his faith in a midfield 2 is justified. Particularly not Dier and Sissoko. Given our front 4 we need passers to free them. We didn’t have that today. Kane and Alderweireld need to add spice to our passing game - not be the best passers we put out!

Lo Celso and Ndombele both need a run.

He would have played Sissoko and Winks a combo which has also shown to be just as disastrous this season. He would also have played Eriksen ‘I don’t give a shit anymore’ as well.
