Well that was quick.

My mates in Rome are buzzing. My family has a place in Rome and I plan to stay there for awhile in the fall. Hoping to get to a few AS Roma matches when football is back. Will keep you all updated on the fans’ sentiment towards Mourinho next season (y)

Fingers crossed this has saved us a load of money. You'd hope so with him being on gardening leave. I assume there'd be a three way negotiation between the parties in respect of compensation to us for his services, compensation to Jose for any potential salary shortfall and Jose's new pay. I imagine we have agreed to waive any compensation in exchange for a greatly reduced payout to Jose.

Big risk by Roma putting him on a 3 year deal after his last 3 jobs have ended poorly following the same patterns. Even though Serie A should suit his style more Roma are usually a more attacking team in our mould that tries to buy and develop younger players with potential. I could see it following a similar pattern to us. Guess that's Roma community's problem now! They can deal with those weird Mourinhistas on social media too thankfully.

Indded, I’d only give him a 1 year deal based on his most recent jobs and tell him to earn an extension.

Why did any club ever terminate the contract of any manager, then?

While I do feel sorry for the Roma fans, I am more ecstatic the bellend is out of our club. now lets blow this thread up and leave it to history.

One of my mates has said he's ideally placed to become the next pope.
Do you know how many miracles I have performed?

I think it's been a relatively new development in this industry, probably due to the big jump in salaries. I remember Chelsea doing similar with Conte (I think he stayed out of work longer and turned down jobs to spite them). I imagine contracts have more detailed exit clauses in recent years.

I know he just signed his contract but If there's any chance that Jose is interested in Dier, Lamela and Lucas, Levy should not play hardball with Roma and he should take whatever ( respectful) offer comes our way.

I highly doubt he'll be coming in for any of our players other than possibly Lucas. Even then I doubt it
