I didn't particularly think the loss today was his fault (though he has to take responsibility as manager admittedly) I thought today was the first time in ages we tried to play decent football, we created plenty of chances. We should have put it to bed.

If you look at their 2 goals and you see Dier and Davies being pulled in and pulled apart on both and I think what can Jose do in that situation? Would Alderweireld and Vertonghen have fared any better? Based on what I've seen this season I'd say no. His tactic of having Tanganga as LCB on a 3 so we could double on Traore was working but as soon as he moved centrally to face Dier 1on1 they had the advantage. I don't see what Jose is meant to do in this situation, the players he got are the players he inherited, who else is going to be playing LB exactly? What other CB do we have that is going to steady the ship, there's a reason we had our youth CB being turned inside out for the 3rd goal because we don't have much other choice which is providing more solidity. Then you look at in my opinion having Gazzaniga instead of Lloris in goal costing us again I don't see what Jose is meant to do there. Our midfield duo worked well and we created plenty of chances considering there was no discernible outlet.

The only thing I'd say as a criticism would be the subs, perhaps left too late, especially Parrott, Gedson didn't help in anyway and we lost our shape. but you're all complaining but I haven't seen anybody discernibly make an argument for what Jose could have done differently because from where I'm sitting he set us up in a way to score goals and the players he had available conspired to leave us with a loss here.

He's 3 months into his job and has just lost his two most prolific players. Mental how he seems to be getting judged because he is Jose

Do you think the football is ok and his doing a decent job?
If you lose and play shit football you are on borrowed time at this club and rightly so.

Always said even before he got sacked that sacking Poch was the wrong decision, no manager in the world would do a better job than him

But I will give Jose time and I do feel for him because this squad is and was massively overrated. Davies meh, Rose gone, KWP loaned out, Aurier super inconsistent, Alderweireld & Vertonghen finished, Foyth still a rough diamond, Tanganga first season, Dier finished, Wanyama no knees, Ndombele fitness problems, Lamela always injured, Kane injury proved, Lucas painfully average

But he also repeatedly said before his first game that he loves this squad blablabla. This season isn’t a write off season because he joined mid season, we still need CL for us to grow as a club and buy better players

If only Levy and the board backed Poch after the 15-16 season or even worse the 16-17 season.....

Perhaps the players just aren't good enough and the fact we've lost our two best players to freak injuries has exposed this?

Well my gambit of staying away for a while doesn't seem to have helped.

I'm not even mad anymore. This club is what it is. Deck chairs get shuffled around every now and then but meh.

An FA Cup nearly 30 years ago will be the biggest thing I'll likely ever see us win in my football following life. And we're no longer a complete and utter afterthought in the league these days.

At least we forced the meeja to talk about a "big six" there for a while. #Winning

My worst fears about JM being manager are materializing and I can only hope that changes. I understand we have an an injury situation however where is this new approach he was banging on about. We are playing like his Man Utd team in his last few games at that club. There is no clear formation and no sense that Jose knows how to change it or based on todays game wanted to change it.

We have to hope that pre-season with surgery to the squad things improve. But I am very worried, as the Mourinho I see at present looks like the game has passed him by somewhat.

Sack the manager, someone else comes in, after 3 months sack the manager, someone else comes in, after 3 months sack the manager rinse repeat.

No one does impatience like SC

Would love to go back in the Poch thread and see how many were calling for his head and attacking Levy for getting the "cheap option" back in 2014/2015

The players ain't good enough it's simple. Levy has a lot to answer for he has provided a world class stadium we keep losing in and hasn't provided the players to execute the managers instructions.

Both Pochittinho and Mourinho are great managers working with comfortable players willing to accept defeat

The thing is - youre not just giving him time which I think he needs but youre giving him money - are you comfortable in giving him money to change the squad only for the same crap. Its difficult but I just never saw him as a long term manager but merely someone who could be short term(ish) and perhaps improve us instantly.

Id drop 15m a year on Nagelsmann and go from there... i am pretty sure everyone would be on board with a young progressive manager and would actually give him time (this may come across as me not liking Jose but I actually do but I see him as someone who is at odds with what our club and Levys vision is) - only my view.

I understand what you’re saying but when I’m saying I will give Jose time I also mean that I except him to bring in Luis Campos, Lille Sporting director who will help him build a team. We will see how we play next season

Didn’t want him appointed. Wouldn’t bat an eyelid if he was sacked tomorrow.

But, what the fuck is he supposed to do with that shower out there. I actually thought we looked decent, even organised at times. Then one mistake and they all capitulate. The mentality with some of them is not good enough.

He’ll get time, and rightfully, but it’s going to get a lot worse before it gets better. And I’d start gearing up for Thursday night visits to FC Mordor next season, cause baby, we’re home :cautious:

Can't wait to hear his excuse this time around, outplayed, outrun and outfought by a team who played a European game on Thursday.

How anyone defend this chancer or make allowances for these performances is beyond me.
