He's identified everything he believes we need in the summer(and it's not unrealistic). From what I hear we won't be reliant on one choice for each position either so that's a head start at least.

He has to be given that plus a pre season before he can really be judged imo.
Not doubting what you are saying Trix but heard this all before when Poch was in charge.
Targets identified with second options if miss first. No need to sell before we buy. Targets already lined up/ agreed.

Still came to nothing and then we had the draw of Champions League, a progressive team, a respected manager, world class stadium and facilities.
End of this season some of these will not be on offer.
Want to believe but ..... ..

We need a corona virus outbreak at the training ground, with everyone surviving obviously. Get a few games postponed and hopefully it coincides with Kane and son being back!

I reckon you might be onto something if we quarantined our defence it might stop us conceding goals.

Honestly don’t think this is on Mourinho, yet. Squad has been dead for some time. A lack of investment over 3 years has killed all momentum. A huge overall of the team is required. Happy to give Jose the time, don’t see any other alternative. All on levy and all Enic to back him. 5 first team players minimum needed to change current slide. Centre back, left back, right back, defensive midfielder, striker.
I completely agree with the areas of improvement but i mean you are talking about £200 million and the ability to shift some players on.

Not sure what game he was watching today because you can't say we played well enough to get anything out of the game. Defending is part of the game & there is no doubt our defending was abysmal.

i hope this is true,

forgive me for being pessimistic though, we’ve heard similar before.

this is my concern. From what I remember our net transfer budget was £20m per season? Now we have more revenue but again from what I remember we are paying £22m a season back on the stadium so where does that put our net spend capacity?

plus we will probably have no champions league income to rely on. We have have just dropped £60m on Ndombele and £40m on all Celso. 25£m on Sess and another £25m on Bergwijn. That’s before the option to but Gedson for £42m kicks in as well.

we’ve seen recently that Danny boy is not managing to move players on for extortionate fees as easily as he previously has done so I’m concerned about where the money for Mourinhos rebuild is coming from especially when you consider the above totals up to around £200m which is very unlike us!

But we also heard Poch was rather unflexible when it came to targets, so I take bit about not being relant on one choice as positive note.

We where the better team today and had many chances. It's not Mourinho's fault we defend this poorly. With our poor defenders and lack lf a quality DM we will continue to concede easy goals.

We've showed top 4 form since Mou took over and the amount of slagging off he get's is unmatched since the Sherwood era.

Is it always entertaining? No it is not. Is it effective? Yeah it kind of is. Best get behind the team and the manager as Mou is going kowhere.

He's paid 15m per year to get the best out of the squad and the buck has to stop somewhere. The only position he hasn't tried Tanganga is in goal and we have a different setup at the back every game. Maybe it's tough on Mourinho but I think the players must be wondering what the fuck is going on most of the time. I think he should be getting a lot more out of them or, at the very least give them a chance to settle into some sort of pattern given that it's one area that hasn't been ravaged by injuries and absentees. Yes' we lost Lloris and Davies for a while too but our CBs don't seem to know when to back off or when to close down and that's something the Coach should be drilling into them.

More excuses from Jose but not acknowledging our shithouse defending. We don't deserve to win a game if we concede 3 goals. What the hell do we train on? I thought Dier played ok but looking back on the game he was involved in their 3 goals.

What a load of shit in here. It was actually a good performance in many aspects, we used the ball the best we have in ages, we put together some very good moves and we played a large proportion of the match in the final third. Unfortunately, off the ball our aggression was non existent and, particularly down our left, we was scythed open too easily. Dele buries that header and this is a different thread. Hugo in goal, we concede neither of the first two.

I’m not saying we were 1970 Brazil, but until Wolves third we played the better football. We were undone by bad defending today, but on the ball we were balanced, cohesive and constructed good attacks.

Come on, what do you expect him to say “they are all a bunch of useless tossers and I can’t wait to bin them all in the summer”.

Jose cannot win in here, one minute people say things like the above, then the next post is “he shouldn’t publicly slate players” and the next “he should be doing better with these players” which by mugging them off in public wouldn’t help one bit.

I expect a cohesive defensive unit. I think he should be able to say that we made mistakes for their goals rather than say we deserved to win. Constantly changing the defence doesn't help either.

The most annoying thing today wasn't even the result it was being surrounded by idiots moaning about us "going backwards". We've been playing out from the back and recycling the ball for years now and these people still don't get it

Defending starts from the front but we repeatedly misplace passes in wrong areas and allow teams to drive at us. Its not just the defensive deficencies its players not taking one for the team sometimes, those subtle and sometimes not so subtle fouls.
