You may well be right...but the way the club is run, and I’m talking the playing side, arguably the most important....who the fuck is...
Yea mate fully agree lol I’ve said exactly this many times. It’s all very depressing tbh.
the only hope is that fans protest when we go back to games. Enough is enough now.

But Levy and Lewis are going nowhere, so we need a manager with the will and the success to push through some changes - whch Poch did for a bit. Do you think Jose will do this?

Out of interest - why do you or why do some think that Levy and Lewis wont go anywhere? I mean we are already the most valuable club in the world - this year that is. So what else could they possibly achieve without investing?

True but I don’t think Jose is the guy for us, he’s putting us all to sleep.

I can't see the value in buying this club at the moment. A lot of the upgrading and increase turnover that been achieved. It will be extremely expensive and taking on a big debt to boot.
I personally think the naming rights may be the saving grace for income for ENIC if achievable.

Agree. But the system is shit and boring and we don’t sign good players.
You see I do take exception to this - we DO sign good players,.
We do have quality players - Son, Ndombele, Lo Celso, Bergwijn are not shit players. Even Winks, Lamela, Hugo, Toby, Jan, Davies are not shit - perhaps not of the absolute ManC, Barcelone quality - but not shit.

he wanted £80m for Eriksen with a year on his contract.

can you imagine what he would demand to buy the club outright? A consortium of Russian Oligarchs, Oil Sheilkhs and Jeff Bezos would struggle to meet the asking price.
Hahaha so true.

There is so much right with this post, and yet I still can't forgive the football that we're playing under Jose. That squad, even with all its issues, should be more than capable of beating the likes of Norwich and Bournemouth.

The players themselves aren't the ones deciding to sit deep and cede possession to these sides, whilst looking to counter.

Ndombele showed more invention from midfield in his first 5 minutes on the pitch than we've seen in our past few games. Why then have we not seen more of him? That's down to the manager.

The squad needs rebuilding, but as I've said on here before, I don't want Jose to be the one to rebuild it.

I don't really disagree with you, and I suppose I refer back to one of my questions in the original post: who do we want to be in charge of the rebuild (assuming it actually happens).

I've not fully made my mind up, but I think Jose needs more time. Part of that is also driven by the fact that, let's say we do sack him, I can't see who comes in.

If there was another manager waiting in the wings that made sense then it would likely sway my decision, but I can't see who that is.

We played some pretty poor football in Poch's first season too, and while it's a different situation altogether now, the jump we made in the second season was huge.

I guess I'm hoping, maybe idealistically, we can make a similar jump under Jose.

I didn’t say we sign shit players but we sign far too many average ones and the squad management is awful. It’s boring even going over this again and again tbh.

it’s utter negligence simple as that

Because who will buy us to release this investment? If you are a rich investor looking to get a club, build them up and then either sell or take the dividend you wouldn't pick Spurs - you'd do what Spurs did but with Aston Villa, Newcastle, Preston North End or a club with a low value, high ceiling and lots history - surely?

Just finished watching the game and wish I had just looked at the score and not bothered. Refreshed Mourinho my arse. As with Everton it was the Mourinho of Man Urd just before he was sacked.

He might have taken over mid season but he had time during the break to assess and prepare yet it’s just all so turgid and lifeless on the pitch. Would be happy for Mourinho to leave so we can all get on with our miserable lives.

We also have been not conceding silly goals. If we didn't have fullbacks who are incapable of taking on their man, the system would probably be working.
Then he needs to stop playing a system thats reliant on width from full backs who are incapable of doing that.

Thats precisely what I mentioend earlier in the thread but then the only way that Levy and Lewis will get us to a sellable position is to allow us to regress... that wont happen. So basically we are stuck in a bit of a plateau and possibly regression because as we all know if we stand still we will go backwards

We have a habit of doing this.

How many of Phil Jones, Chris Smalling, Ashley Young, Darren Fletcher etc would have been considered top 4 players.

Well they won the PL title in 2013 and finished 7th the year after with people baffled as to how they did win it.

The truth is players playing with confidence, in a system that works will always appear to be a good team. We are low on confidence and are adjusting to a new system, probably a few players have had enough too.

If Timo Werner or Ziyech or whoever else came into this team right now we'd be wondering if we signed a dud because they'd play just as poorly as some of this lot.
So you’re comparing a United treble winning squad to ours? Genius. Aurier is terrible. Davies is championship level. our own players refuse to pass to sissoko. Lamela runs into crowds of players. and they are all starting first 11 players. (iPad screen shagged so forgive the punctuation.)

Worrying comment from my brother (United fan)

Said the United squad got really unfit during Jose's time and he killed motivation in a lot of players.

I don't know if that's down to training methods or if his players just lose desire.. but concerning as If never really thought about it before.
I think for a lot of our players they can’t lose what they don’t have. The desire seemed to go in after we got rolled over by Wolves after being 1-0 at Wembley when we were 3 points off the top. Since that game, CL papering over the cracks aside, we have been crap and are getting worse.

Someone need to do a poll / new forum. “Lowlight of the season”. There are a lot of contenders:

Newcastle at home
Bayern at home
Colchester Away
Brighton Away
Poch being sacked
Jose being hired
Leipzig Home and Away
Man Utd Away
Chelsea Home and Away

Bournemouth Away

there are others....

Pick a team....any team.. but now you mention the wolves game...you’re right, that was the beginning of the end...

Metalhead

But that's a debate for another thread.....

According to media reports, Amazon were the latest company to show an interest. Probably coronovirus is holding things up as obviously they would want maximum value from the deal, which I guess would mean having bums back on seats.
