And very few of those were Jose signings.Man United transfer record:
Summer 18
- Fred, baaaaaad
- Dalot, meh?
Summer 17 + Winter 18
- Lindelof, decent player
- Matic, good one season then fell off
- Lukaku, not good enough
- Sanchez, complete bust & horrible, horrible signing
Summer 16
- Bailly, not good enough
- Ibrahimovic, good signing
- Mkhitaryan, bust
- Pogba, great player but inconsistent
Not exactly exciting reading boys & girls! One good season of Matic, one good season of Ibra, & probably only Pogba in 3 TW windows being the only player United would be happy about signing still to this day. Ibra obviously as well but was on a free.
Really? I don't remember signing by signing but I'd imagine Pogba, Ibra, Mkhitaryan, Sanchez, Matic, Lukaku, & Fred all full on his players. Unsure on the defenders. And very few of those were Jose signings.
It does raise questions, to be sure. Particularly the aging players on massive wages like Matic, Ibra, Mkhitaryan, and Sanchez. Those players were either outright disasters or had brief periods of effectiveness before they declined precipitously or fucked off to a retirement league. We absolutely cannot afford to operate that way, and if Mourinho hasn't agreed on the front end that we simply won't be chasing that kind of target it will inevitably lead to disaster. Levy is no fool, so if the denizens of SC have identified it as a problem I'm nearly certain the issue will have been addressed over the past week as we were seeking our new manager.Man United transfer record:

Depends, if Toby stays now that will maybe lessen the burden to buy a CB. But still going to need to replace Eriksen, buy a DM, RB and figure out LB. Then we'll see what he wants to do with the GK.Bailly was great but injury prone.
Anyway I feel many are missing the point, Utd needed to rebuild as their squad was horrible, I don't think we're in that much need of a rebuild personally.
I think there is a little exaggeration here.Man United transfer record:

Mkhi wasn't bad, not bad at all for man utd. I mean he lost form in his second season, but he got swapped for Sanchez and stagnated at Arsenal.
Lukaku was good under Jose, not great but good and did a job. Tbh Man utd miss him this season. He is not world class but does a job.
Matic similarly was good throughout his time under mourinho. He dipped after but frankly he is not a young player anymore. He was incredibly important in getting Man utd that second place.
Mourinho did not get the signings he wanted in Man utd. He really wanted Toby for example but the board blocked it. The signing issue has been a problem at utd for a long long time predating Jose. I don't think you can fully attribute the problems to him.
he didn't win the FA Cup, he won the League Cup v Southampton thanks to no VAR
I remember reading somewhere a couple of weeks ago that Fred wasn't a signing Jose wanted. Can't speak for the rest of the list.Really? I don't remember signing by signing but I'd imagine Pogba, Ibra, Mkhitaryan, Sanchez, Matic, Lukaku, & Fred all full on his players. Unsure on the defenders.
If one thing is for sure - looking at this clip, it's that Mourinho has big ambitions and pretty big asks of his next employer, so unless we're going for a rolling monthly contract, Levy must be giving some pretty cast iron assurances on spending.
Go to 6m18s. He also talks about Poch shortly after.
The whole thing is worth a watch if you've got the time.
Everbody and their mother knows about this man; he probably garners more attention than any coach on earth right now, which means if nothing else we will be in the spotlight for his entire tenure here. So, questions:
1). Are you happy/pleased/content/relieved or- conversely- are you beyond disgusted now that "The Special One" is taking the reign from Poch?
2). Do you think his appointment will be beneficial to us in the short term? How about over the long term?
3). Do you reckon he will play boring, lockdown, 1-nil to the Tottenham-style football or do you think he'll produce a good product on the pitch?
4). Which players- if any- do you think will benefit from his appointment, and which players do you think will suffer with him taking the helm?
5). Do you predict a trophy- or trophies- under him?
Lastly, what are you thoughts in general about his hiring? My Ars*nal mate reckoned he'd never come to Spurs because of Levy's tightfistedness, but now he's here so, yeah...is this a good thing or will it all end in tears (or both)?
