i still think Bentaleb is a quality player. he was just ill suited to play the role Pochettino asked him to play for the season he and Mason started most of our games as our two midfielders.
if anyone was going to take over from Dembele long term, it should have been Bentaleb. but as good as he is, his attitude is his biggest problem.
as for Onomah, i still firmly believe he is good enough to play for Tottenham. he reminds me too much of Michael Carrick for me to sell him.
Get him back, give him a good preseason with a few games in central midfield and see how he does. He should have his chance to do that with injuries and players away at the World Cup needing rest on their return.
If he doesn’t get that chance, then I think we can finally put to bed him ever getting a chance in that position under Poch I’m afraid.
Also give him instruction to pump some iron in the off-season to build upper body strength.
He looked considerably bigger when I saw him training in preseason in Orlando tbf
Then someone has to teach him the art of leaning on his opponents so that he doesn't get barged off the ball, much like Lamela has done since his early days with us.
Appreciate and respect your comments. Same was said about HK in his various loan spells. All about the management. The few times I witnessed Onomah playing this season, I wasn't overly impressed.
He seemed to run around alot but not really achieve anything of any great note.
That's not me saying he isn't/won't be good enough, as stated limited time watching his game, I'll reserve judgement a while longer, but nothing outstanding as of yet for me.
I feel like people forget how highly rated Onomah was, coming through our academy - he could still be a top player.

Can't judge him for Villa this season. Not enough regular game time in any single position. The few times I witnessed Onomah playing this season, I wasn't overly impressed.

I know it wasn't your point, but trust me, @cider spurs is more than aware of what people used to say about young Mr Kane.
In the past, we each spent many an hour arguing with 'experts' that were constantly proclaiming "Kane will never make it as a PL player, let alone at THFC who aspire to play in the CL", or "He's not good enough & never will be" after I'd submitted article after article about how the young "Not even good enough for Leicester" is a star in the making.
You have no idea how smugly I sit back in my chair each time Kane finds the back of the net
Because he was one of the better youth prospects the club has produced in recent yearsI don't understand the clamour for him. Never seen him do anything for spurs, perhaps he has played out of position, but now he struggles to get into a championship team where he has done very little. Can't see how he can make the jump to be better than winks or a dembele relacement.
