Jota in on loan, Gil out on loan seems the most realistic option.

Gil on loan to another premier league club though. We know he can do it in La Liga. Needs more English experience

Can we really afford to let Gil leave on loan, we are down to the bare bones and still have Son to go for the month of Jan. Who knows what other injuries we may get. Maddison and Solomon wont be back fully fit until end of Feb you would think.

Even if we bring in Jota, we shouldn't loan out Gil until the very last minute of the January window.

Without Son, our attacking options would be:

Jota/Solomon, Richarlison, Johnson/Gil

Realistically Ange clearly doesn't think Veliz is ready to contribute properly yet and Deki will be needed in midfield until the likes of Benny, Sarr and Bissouma return.

If he is available in a week - I would take him.

If nothing else - he can play LW while Sonny is away.

He already knows the system, and has had success - so he should be able to slot in quickly.

No idea how fit he'd be after being sidelined in Saudi. Not sure he could just come straight in for Sonny tbh.

Well, if he was here on the 1st, 4 days of training, then a 60-minute run out for the Cup match, then 9 more days until the first league match. He does not have to go 90 to be helpful.

Although I could perhaps understand him going on loan, I don't think a loan to River Plate is going to help him or us at all. We need him to integrate into the English game so to me if he does get loaned out it needs to be at the very least a decent championship team or ideally a lower table premier league side.

I know nothing about the boy, bar youtube, but Ange has worked with him extensively for a good few years, so if he thinks he could add a different dimension to the squad, for the right price, I'm for it

He’s absolutely class mate, only 24 but at a really good level right now, can play LW or RW (played mostly LW for Ange at Celtic and at Benfica before that but can cover LW or RW) can dribble and shoot well, quite creative, fairly 2 footed, pretty skilful and exciting, imo he’s like a better version of Benhrama from West Ham.

Signing him would be great because then we’d have a lot of flexibility on our front 3 between :
ST: Richy/Son
LW: Jota/Son/Solomon/Johnson
RW: Kulu/Johnson/Jota
