Spurs won't be signing Estudiantes defender Juan Foyth after Mauricio Pochettino decided not to pursue deal at price that was being quoted

So is this true?

Or a public bluff to see if there really is a PSG offer, and flush out how badly Foyth wants to come to Spurs?

The subtext of the tweet is that if Estudiantes accept the offer that the club made to Veron last week, we will go ahead and sign Foyth.

But if they come back will Levy lower his price also. I definitely would

When the hell did Roma enter the frame?
I asked the question on here ten pages ago, has he signed for PSG? I'm still asking, it's a bit of a bleeding saga ain't it.

Roma were reportedly interested before we were linked. He has not signed for PSG and its not really clear if they're really in for him or if Veron just invented a bid to try to force Levy's hand...

Lots of talk on twitter that the kid had his heart set on moving to Spurs and is angry at his parent club for the way they've handled the transfer.

Suggestions that he's going to pie off any other clubs to force the move to Spurs.

Not sure how true it is but if it is then it's a cracking way to get our fans onside at the start of his career at the club.

Why would he go to PSG. Will get lost in the mix there

Spurs with an Argie manager that gives game time to up and coming players - much higher chance of his career working out

That said for a club like Estudiantes every penny counts (as for Levy it's does to be fair apart from paying himself of course) so why not push for top value

Dunno. Wimmer and ccv haven't really got that much of a look in. PSG are under a lot less pressure as the league (for them) is a lot less competitive and they can afford to risk a youngster.

tbf PSG only have 3 CB at the moment
Thiago Silva, Marquinhos, and a young CB (Kimpembe)

btw, looking at the PSG team I found out they bought our former academy player Yuri Berchiche for 16m. That was unexpected

Veron: would you like to buy Foyth
Levy : Nah
Veron : but I hear PSG are interested in him. Could you make a bigger bid than them and we'll share the diff 50/50 after their final bid?
Levy : sure (whilst licking his lips)
Levy : I bid £7m
PSG : £8m
Levy : £9m
PSG : £10m
Levy : £12m
PSG : final offer £14m
Veron : done deal
Levy : Hey Juan, mi amigo, I'll give you my special hot line number if you need any more transfer assistance.

Tbh the centre back cover is one area that bothers me. If we have Jan or Toby out, the other one doesn't seem to function as well in their absence. I know they're only pre-season friendlies, but Wimmer still doesn't look to have rediscovered his form. And CCV, who Poch last season said was ready for first team action, looks anything but to me. I still shudder at recollecting how he was bullied by Wycombe's forwards in the Cup last season. Dier also looks uncomfortable there and is prone to Walkeresqe brainfarts.

I really hope we get a good quality cb cover in soon; our present options fill me with dread, should we lose either of our main men for any length of time.
