Sources close to GGFN suggest that Kevin Wimmer has completed his loan move back to 1. FC Köln from Tottenham Hotspur.

It was reported earlier in the week by Kicker that the Bundesliga club were looking to complete the deal by the weekend.

After losing Mergim Mavraj to Hamburger SV, this is a move that makes sense for Peter Stöger’s Köln.
I just don't understand.

Whatever. You dont want to stay and fight for your place then quite frankly I dont want you. Bye. Good player but if he refuses to fight for his place and wants out then let him go. Why loan him until the summer, though? Get rid of him permanantly. Find a team needing a CB badly and sell him for a premium.

He needs games as he wants to keep his place in the Austrian team, can hardly blame him.

If it's true, I can only assume it's a few days old, when they thought Toby was fine, Vertonghen wouldn't get suspended and then there's Dier and CCV if necessary. Wimmer looks like the odd man out.

It is true Koln sold that player. Maybe 2 days ago.

He's way ahead of CCV and Dier imo. He's actually my favourite CB after Toby. Huge error to not involve him more and now not have him as an option at all. Stupid, in fact.

It's not worth it's own thread and it's no doubt complete rubbish, but the Sun are apparently saying that we want to sign Pepe from Madrid.

Too good to not be getting games, but not good enough to pip Vertonghen. Can see why he'll want minutes.

Great bit of timing if there's any truth in it. Hope he can play v Watford since Vertonghen couldn't see out the last 3 minutes last night without getting a yellow. Can't say I understand the policy of loaning out players all over the place in January though. The second half of the season is every bit as tough as the first and there will be injuries and suspensions to deal with at some point. Can't think of a CB we could have rather than Wimmer in that scenario either.

Unless he wants to go back to Germany, if it's a loan it should be to a PL side. He's proven he's good enough and you'd have to think there's plenty of teams who would want him.

I think it's all just BS, though.

Why play him when Vertonghen is fit? Verts is far better and has been our best defender this season by miles, which is saying something considering how good Rose and Walker have been. Poch doesnt play with 2 left footed CB's or 2 right footed CB's.

This is where I disagree.
